Just get it. I have many of these black lights that advertise showing cat urine, etc., and they do not work well or at all.This is not the case for this light. Best in class, hands down. It is sturdy and works a little too well, if anything. What I like a lot is the ability to use an extension to use three 18650 batteries for longer life, and it works just as well with the included two 18650 batteries. I had other 18650 batteries and use three in mine using using the included extension.The main use for me was detecting areas of carpet around the litter box that may need to be shampooed, and when I walked around the house, the results were amazing and yet disturbing. I am a clean freak, and this simply will let you see what your eyes don't. So if you want a truly clean house, this is a must :)PS. For those unfamiliar with NM values. Don't be fooled into thinking a higher value is better.Lower is better, depending on what you want it for.375 is ideal as it is a more pure uv and does a better job detecting scorpions, pet stains, forensics, currency verification, and things like that.395 is ideal for Halloween/party effects, glow in the dark, and casual use.Hope this helps. Wow! The product description was very enticing and they were not wrong! This is the most amazing black light I’ve ever had in my hands. It is truly not the purple ones used for ambient artistic lighting. This is a serious work horse that blocks the visible portion and just makes everything glow. Construction is heavy duty and it is a pleasure to use. I stayed up way too late playing with it the first day, and now I find out I didn’t have to, because it does work in daylight indoor conditions just fine! I want a second one for no good reason lol.

I did a lot if research before I bought this..it does do a good job of highlighting dye, but almost too good, it frequently false positives on dead bugs, sealants, tags, etc..it doesnt have the superbright range id hoped for, tho it will paint a surface 10 plus feet away, just not as beamish as id hoped..works better in dark conditions, if your in a shop and can close doors and turn off lights its pretty impressive..end of the day its one of the best dye lights in our shop.

The light is really powerful and can cause objects to fluoresce from 5-10 meters away in the day and further at night. I use this mostly for analyzing Uranium glass pieces and it works well; makes for very brilliant fluorescence. Note that the LEDs are powerful and emit quite a but of heat. The heatsink becomes noticeably warm after a few minutes of operation, but not uncomfortably warm.

Incredibly bright in UV; barely any visible light output at all. Exactly what I was looking for. I am a driveway mechanic as needed, and it’s darn near impossible to see leak dye during the day with a cheap uv light. This thing? I’m scared it’ll cause cataracts if I stare into the beam. It’s is a flaming torch in UV, that’s for sure. Leak dye practically explodes with fluorescence.Love that it has removable batteries instead of the ubiquitous usb-c port that every electronic device from “there” has these days. Means I can pop them out and put them in my dedicated charger, or, gasp, replace them when they’re old and stop holding a charge. What an idea!Worth four times more than the competition? Eh, I’ll use it once or twice a year, but I know it’ll be there and work when I need it. That makes it worth it to me.

I like that it is bright and allows me to quickly sweep rooms for cat urine. It is weighty but not awkwardly so.Unfortunately the batteries died after 32 minutes of use. I timed how long it takes me to cover the rooms and multipled by the days I've used it. The batteries will be recharged and I'll check again. It may be a light construction issue as the beam would come on and off as I changed the its orientation or manipulated the end cap.The company responded well before. I will also retest with batteries of mine. If it's a battery issue and they are willing to ship new batteries or compensate me I'll keep the light.Update 7/5/24. I recharged the supplied batteries and did a continuous discharge. They lasted just over three hours not the "many" as implied in the manual:"Light getting “dim”If at any point you find the uvBeast getting slightly “dim” after many hours of continuous operation, it’s usually because the batteries (one or more of them) are getting low and it is time to charge."I'll write the company for an explanation. At the moment it's a coin toss as whether to keep the light.Update: The company overnight shipped a new light. They feel it is either light or batteries. Did not want old returned. Testing underway. Excellent customer service. One star bump solely for that.Update 3.23.25: The light is still used daily to check the entire first floor for cat mishaps. Going strong.Recommend.

If you are hunting scorpions, BUY THIS LIGHT! It's unfair asymmetric warfare against scorpions. They don't have a chance. There is NO HIDING from this light. I live in a rural area and hunt scorpions nightly and truly I feel a little guilty because they can NOT hide from this beam. The carnage is apocalyptic.Eventually, those that are left are going to rise up and it'll be all out war but thankfully, they'll have to call in reinforcements because I decimate their numbers nightly and this light is a critical part of my armory. The second most critical part is my shoe.

If you're looking for a durable, bright black light, this is it! I use it regularly for my business and it easily reveals pet urine—even with the lights on. The battery lasts a long time, and despite a few accidental drops, it still works perfectly. Highly recommended!
