A little smaller than I'd expected
The Winter Trax do the job, but were A little smaller than I'd expected. So it was a little struggle to get them on a pair of my husband's shoes. They were too small to put on his boots.

They'd work better if they stayed on
These work great, give me great stability in the snow and ice. The problem is they don't stay on. Every time I go to feed the animals I have to check my boots every 5 min to see if they're still on. Sized for women's size 6 to men's size 12, my boots are a woman's size 8. So they should fit, right?WRONG! They come off. All the time. As I walk back to the house I have to look for one of them in the snow. Hopefully it's just one so I have traction with at least one boot. I like the easy-on feature, don't like that they're so easy off.

Lasted a week.
These are not the same quality as the original YakTrax. I wore them for one week, and the metal coils began breaking, and then they would snag carpet and cut the rubber webbing. So effectively, they are self-destructive. And in the trash now.

Broke the first day.
These are a wonderful idea - while they work. Unfortuntely the first day the rubber snapped. I would regard these for emergency use and keep a pair in your car. They do have excellent traction, would have been nice if they were all chain. The difference on snow and ice is truly amazing.

WinterTrax problem
If you must walk on a patch of pavement when walking on an icy driveway or road, the metal spirals break off!

These are wonderful! After over 4 years of using these in the icy weather, they are still working. As a caregiver, I had purchased 2 pair and gave one to my client to use. The secret is to remove them when going into buildings and keep your little bag. I think that they work best with fairly flat shoes and I wear a 10 AA. I have learned that you can still walk on ice but take firm steps and don't get in too much of a hurry.
