Good quality

Simple to use and works pretty much the same as more expensive models. Ok, so it’s not completely waterproof but I’m not planning on going out detecting in the rain anyway and wasn’t planning on using it underwater. The bigger the metal object you detect the further away it works, so for coins and jewellery it works from about 2-3inches away which is good enough for me as it will be used alongside a proper metal detector. There are a lot of pin pointers that are near identical (prob made by the same company) but I went with the GP branded one. Will see how long it lasts but I’ve seen videos of people use if it for over a year so fingers crossed. It seems sturdy enough with the battery fitted ,which is not supplied, but so far on a recent test it done the job a lot cheaper than branded models.

We found a lot of old metal using this pointer, it is easy to use and good at pointing. In November it just started beeping for no reason, we switched it on and off and changed the battery but about 20 seconds after being switched on it just starts beeping and vibrating and won't stop. We now to buy another one.

I have only used this pinpointer 3 times, two in the dry and worked OK. However used it in wet sand getting just the bottom 2 to 3 inches max wet, and absolutely useless. Would not stop sounding and vibrating when just the tip was submerged. Turned on and off a couple of times, but then started vibrating and sounding even when turned off. This pointer is useless, and is not at all waterproof. I did not submerge the pointer, but after just three short outings a total of just over two hours of detecting it's brocken. Not Fit For Purpose!
