Great book for kids
The book does a wonderful job of portraying Marie Antoinette, not just as a queen, but as a person with dreams, fears, and desires relatable to children. The writing style is simple yet captivating, incorporating historical facts without overwhelming young readers. Through the pages, children learn about Marie’s early life in Austria, her marriage to Louis XVI, and her life at the grand Palace of Versailles. What makes this book particularly special are the vivid illustrations that bring the opulence and charm of Versailles to life. Each chapter is dotted with pictures that help children visualize the setting and characters, making the historical figures approachable and the storyline easy to follow. One of the significant aspects of this book is its ability to present complex historical events in a kid-friendly manner. It addresses the challenges Marie Antoinette faced during her reign and the tumultuous times leading to the French Revolution, providing valuable lessons on empathy and history.

"Who Was Marie Antoinette?" You'll Certainly Find Out!
I'm a huge fan of both Marie Antoinette and the Who Was? book series, and I was very impressed by the simplicity of this book. It sums up the key points of her life while being appropriate to young readers. The biography also helps explain to younger readers the time that Marie Antoinette lived in, and I consider it one of the best (short) biographies about the last Queen of France. It is a perfect addition to the "Who Was?" book series, and one you should definitely consider buying!

"She wasn’t allowed to bring anything from Austria into France,..."
This introduction to the life of Marie Antoinette is a reminder that individuals are almost always more complex than the one or two line by which history summarizes their lives, or we find them easy to remember.Queen of France? Yes. Crowned as a teenager, thrust into a more public life than even modern influencers live... this book paints the picture of a woman who spent her short life trying to figure out how she wanted to live it, and feeling as though she was disappointing those who gave her feedback.

Very fascinating and very tragic story
I loved learning about Marie Antoinette but it is very tragic for how she treated the french. There seem to be somkethikng with french for always blaming others for they're poor life decisions liked the killed Marie Antoinette ,her husband ,and sister-in-law Elisbeth . Now Elisabeth is innocent so the french were messed up. Well that's my opinion . But I seriously loved this book!!!! You should totally get it.

I also did not appreciate that she was an easy target for political reasons (because she was from Austria ...
We saw the exhibit at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco "Royal Treasures from Louis XIV to Marie-Antoinette approximately three years ago. They remember the magnificent jewels and treasures. They learned when they were 3 years old about Louis XIV, XV XVI to Marie-Antoinette. We did not learn until we read books about the source of "let them eat cake" came from 100 years before Marie-Antoinette. I also did not appreciate that she was an easy target for political reasons (because she was from Austria etc.). Of course, she did partake in the parties and lavish spending but it is possible had she had had guidance from her mother she would have faired better.
