Vital Performance Sleep - L-Theanine, Magnesium Glycinate and GABA (Apple Cinnamon)

Sleep deprivation is a truly unique concern for each individual as some things work great for one person and not so much with the next person. I have tried everything; from acupuncture to zinc and nothing every seems to help me shut off my mind. In my quest to discontinue the use of prescriptions to sleep, I tried this product based on a recommendation from a friend. For me, this product began to work within 30min of consuming. I slowed my racing mind and allowed me to disconnect. I felt "heavy" and "relaxed" and was able to naturally fall asleep. It allows for me to remain asleep for about 4hrs; which is tremendous for me. I do awake with the urge to use the bathroom and I believe that is the reason for the 4hr sleep time. I will continue to monitor my use and routine to discover the best combination for myself. If you have tried everything with little to no success, I would highly recommend trying Vital Performance Sleep.

Been experiencing insomnia for about 10 years now and have tried many things out there and none of them really work like this. This sup is the best I have ever encountered! Once I fall asleep I'm fine, but I have been really struggling with falling asleep. I love Vital Proteins' products and was excited to see they had a sleep remedy. I eat a strict Paleo diet. I mixed the Apple Cinnamon into 8 oz warm liquid per instructions. I used coconut milk. Sounded great to me! It was HORRID tasting. I don't eat anything artificial and was incredibly artificial tasting and disgusting. It took me 30 minutes to finish it b/c I was gagging after each sip. I retched multiple times after I got it down and laid awake severely nauseous and spitting up. I told a friend about how I responded and she said it sounded like how I was when I took my colonoscopy prep. Yep, it was that bad. But that was not the worst part.I took it at 1:30am. I laid in bed WIDE AWAKE until well after 7am. My alarm went off at 9:30am to feed my dogs and I was SEVERELY motor impaired. I could barely move. I struggled to walk, and I had to figure out how to get the dog food into the bowl as my muscles weren't responding.. This has NEVER happened to me. My speech was drugged-sounding. I safely made it to the couch and fell asleep. I was COMPLETELY UNABLE to wake up at all for the rest of the day. I have recordings of myself where I left WhatsApp audio messages to my friends to let them know why I was MIA and I am drugged sounding.I could not think clearly and have no memory of leaving those messages. I did not start waking up until 11pm that night (21.5 hours after taking the sleep remedy). I was still groggy at 1:30 am (24 hours AFTER taking the one dose.) It didn't completely wear off until the following day about 36 hours later! dI can't imagine if I had had to go to work that day or take care of children!This is very dangerous stuff. Obviously for people with brains like mine, this can have a scary affect. It is shocking to me that this stuff is on the market. Shame on Vital Proteins for putting their customers in danger. I took this as directed to the letter. I found this remedy because I'm a loyal customer and was purchasing collagen and gelatin on Amazon and this was recommended to me and so I checked it out. I'm a person who does their homework. This is expensive stuff and I didn't just try it randomly. I am writing this review because I wouldn't give this to anyone I cared about. They have lost me as a customer. I will NOT trust their products again as they obviously have ventured into other areas and away from what they did well.I have a YouTube channel as I am a chronic illness and disability advocate. I was videoing my experience with VP Sleep as a part of a video I was making on sleep remedies as ppl with chronic health issues often have sleep issues. Now I'm putting out a video solely on my experience with VP SLEEP. Everything i said above was documented on video (including how impaired I was) and will be shared on my channel. I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I made in trying VP SLEEP. I hope to save some people from the nightmare I experienced.If you STILL try this product even after reading my experience, please make sure you have someone around when you take it. Not everyone's brain will react like mine, but if yours does, you will want someone to make sure you are okay. I was terrified and I live alone.

The apple cinnamon flavor is not great. I really love apple cider and apple juice - but I dont like apple cinnamon candles. I was hopeful about this flavor, but I wanted it to taste more like apple cider than the apple cinnamon candle haha. Im giving this 5 stars because I have purchased 4 other flavors and the benefits of this product are so amazing. Stronger nails (always brittle in the past), thicker eye lashes, my hair is growing faster, my skin looks a lot healthier (esp at 36), and my attitude is better. Overall, Im much happier than I was in 2020...not that that was hard haha!

I have such a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep at night. I saw this product on Erin Oprea's Instagram and she swore by it, so I thought I would give it a try as the cannabis products that I use to fall asleep are so expensive. Well, let me tell ya...this knocked me out for the night! I just mixed it with hot water and let it do it's magic. I didn't even know that I fell asleep, that's how good it was! I was a total skeptic but am now a believer. Gave some to my friend as she was having trouble sleeping and it knocked her out too! I ended up buying the orange flavor also but I have yet to try that one. The berry flavor tastes pretty good.

Like many folks, the stress of a quarantine year and global pandemic has wreaked havoc on my sleeping pattern, quality, and duration. I ordered this, thinking I could manage it in an herbal berry tea, or straight with hot water, but the flavor is truly off-putting. It needs to either be vanilla or berry, but not both. As it is, it is strangely perfume-y and leaves me somewhat nauseated. Trying to hide it in a flavored beverage helps a little, but not much. I really wish the brand would offer an unflavored option, or something simpler, like plain vanilla -- something that doesn't fight with whatever it's mixed into.Flavor aside, once I can get this down and my stomach settles, I do have much better sleep quality - I don't wake up during the night and feel rested when my alarm goes off. On a few surprising occasions, I've even woken up before my alarm; something that hasn't happened in decades. YMMV, of course, but if you find that you can sleep for 10 hours and still wake up exhausted, this might be worth a try. It worked for me.I'll finish this jar and contemplate whether the apple cinnamon is worth trying with decaf chai in the evenings. I'm not confident it is.

The flavor is horrible and being warm doesn't help, not even close to an orange cream in taste but it kind of smells like it.It does work as I anticipated and it states but I don't want to take it because of the taste. That's why I gave it 3 stars.
