Just wow
This monitor is amazing. So glad I’ve found a worthy alternative to a multi-thousand dollar Apple Studio monitor.

Most dense monitor for Mac laptop going, but need a trick to run native resolution
Love the monitor. My configuration is a 2019 Macbook Pro 16 using dual display with the built-in monitor and the LG monitor. I can make the fonts small enough to need a magnifying glass and they are still readable on both monitors. Retina display-like sharpness. BUT I had monitor resolution problems ON THE MBP monitor after upgrading to Big Sur (MBP 16 from 2019).Maybe this was happening before for several months with Catalina and I didn't notice, but I wasn't able to see native resolutions any more, like I was used to with Mojave. I'm used to super tiny font sizes and lots of real estate, but I was only given options to pick screen dimensions at least 50% smaller than I'm used to. RDM to the rescue! After a very simple download and 'make', I now can go tinier than even I like to go. Anyway, RDM worked for me.Counter-intuitively, my new external LG 4K display's native resolution was support out-of-the-box with Big Sur. But you have to use the "secret" option-click 'Scaled" radio button to see the native resolution.Related Backstory: I was running the LG 5K Ultrafine repack and it broke after a year. Asurion product insurance that I had bought refunded the full price. I decided to go with the 4K version this time because on the 5K, bandwidth is limited when using the monitor as a USB-C hub, I've heard. And I was having weird issues from time to time with anything I plugged into the back of the 5K monitor, like strange network errors (when plugged in). So 4K for the redo. So far, so good after a month.

Pretty cool for Mac computers (DON'T EVER PLUG CHEAP USB HUBS TO COMPUTER OR MONITOR)
Exactly what I was expecting for. Almost no difference in quality compared to my Macbook Pro Retina display. HOWEVER, I noticed that the screen was flickering from time to time. Then, I downloaded LG Screen Manager from Mac App store and OnScreen Control app from lg.com/us and the problem was still there. Then I proceeded to unplug my cheap USB hub from my Mac mini and it never flickered ever again. I have also stopped charging stuff off of the monitor which may have been causing the monitor to flicker. The only thing I don't like about the monitor is that I can't use it with Windows computers but it appears that buying HDMI to USB C Cable with extra USB power source seemed to have done the trick for others.

Great monitor for design / editing / work.
This is a great monitor. Good color quality, sitting along side a new mac book pro. I once skimped on an HD LG monitor for an employee that didn't need design resolution (saved a couple hundred dollars) and it's really not worth the savings. Highly recommend.

Best Small Monitor for Mac Designers
I'm a digital product designer, and this is hands down, the best monitor for my work. The picture, and color quality are spot on with my MacBook's display, so regardless of the screen I'm working from, the colors are consistent. The price is a little steep but after trying other 400-600 dollar 4k monitors from dell, samsung, and lg and feeling like the color or clarity weren't great, so decided I'd spend the extra 100 dollars, and I'm very happy I did.I personally think this is the best monitor to get if you are looking for a display that really matches the color and quality of your MacBook's without costing over $1000.

Thunderbolt charging feature works really nice.
This monitor has a great image and color quality. I would say it is at least as good as my macbook 13" display, with the advantage of being a 24 inches 4K.For me, one of the best features is that it can charge your macbook through Thunderbolt, and also has a 4 port USB-C hub in the back. Using a single thunderbolt 3 cable you display images, gain 4 additional USB-C ports and charge your computer at the same time. It is so convenient to plug just ONE cable and have all these things connected at once.

Auto Dimming Quite Poor
Auto Dimming was poor. The monitor constantly went from light to dark in room filled with sun light. The system is overly sensitive all you could do was shut off the feature. I bought it for the feature. The picture was nice but since the monitor did not work as intended I returned it.

Great addition to my M1 iMac
I was struggling with not having a high enough quality second screen and this works perfectly. Only thing is it doesn’t have its own camera. Speakers work great but I would suggest upgrading to some type of surround sound or bookshelf speakers. It’s the cheaper route to go if you don’t want to spend $1500 on a studio display from Apple.

Worth the Splurge for use with a Mac
I hesitated to get this monitor because of the high price. Tried a few others and was never that happy with them. Found this one on sale for 30% off so I purchased it.Wow. The quality of the display is the same, the look is the same and the brightness is that same as you get with a modern MacBook or iMac with LCD screen. With other monitors used beside a Mac, the lower quality / different colour tuning lets you know that you purchased a cheap monitor. This monitor was designed together with Apple, so it works great with Apple.I was also surprised how decent the audio is. Much better than any other external not made by Apple monitor I have used. Better than most basic external speakers. They are not amazing, but they are more than good enough, that I have not felt the need to attach external speakers, as I have always done with every other external monitor I have used.Beware, the monitor has no physical controls for adjustment. On the plus side, it works with the brightness keys on a Mac keyboard. It looks great with my PC, but I had to get an HDMI input to USB-C output 4K adapter, as my PC can not output video from a USB-C port. Note that typical USB-C to HDMI adapters are USB-C input to HDMI output. They are non powered. Those work great to connect a USB-C device like an iPad to and HDMI port on a TV. They will not work in reverse. You need a powered HDMI output to USB-C input 4K video adapter. There are a few here on Amazon. They have an extra dongle that plugs into a USB port on your PC to provide power for the adaptor. For a couple of examples, search in Amazon for the following ASIN Amazon product numbersB09LGVNXPKB0BNX61QNVThe PC software with windows 11 does not work except for brightness adjustment. But then again, the same applies for use on a Mac. No need to adjust it looks great as is.If you are into fast action gaming, note this monitor has a maximum frame rate of 60 fps. In its favour it does a great job with visibility in dark screens. It is not intended as a gaming monitor, so I did not deduct any points from its rating. If you have a Mac, and want a Mac LCD quality display, this is it, unless you want to spend more than twice as much on an official Apple Studio Display.

Gorgeous monitor
This is a really good alternative to the Apple Studio Display, if you don't need the SD's size, sound and incredibly fine image. Well actually, the image on the 4K LG Ultrafine is not a whole lot less fine. I can't see the pixels on either. It's smaller than the SD, but some of us don't want the size. The LG slips right into place on an entry-level Mac Studio running Ventura. Instead of resolution numbers in the Settings panel, you get example text sizes, which makes a lot of sense. There aren't any external buttons and I haven't missed them. Sound is clear and detailed, and with two speakers, it's as powerful as I need.Actually I love this monitor. It cost what was, for me, a lot of money, it works without a hitch, it fits on my desktop and the image is the easiest on the eyes I've ever had. I consider it a very good buy.

Best monitor on earth.
I have ran a design firm and purchased over 100 monitors for designers/programmers and always used Dell monitors. This monitor works perfectly. If you want a screen that represents the Mac screens "Apple M2 Air" this screen is nearly identitcal to the Apple screens. I purhcased more and will stick with this screen for all my needs.
