Butter Buds is a great product to use in place of butter.
This is a good substitute to use to replace butter and extra fat for those that need to reduce their calories and fat, on veggies. Is it as good in flavor as butter, of course not? But it's close. I remember when this product first came out...'many moons' ago, over 50 years in fact. So, it's proved itself as being useful. It's easy to use, and flavorful. I recommend giving it a try.

Taste just like I remembered!
I used to use these all the time and then I stopped seeing them in the grocery stores and kind of forgot about it and then I came across it on amazon. It is great for adding that buttery flavor to just about anything without the calories. I even use it in one of my favorite smoothies that I call cinnamon roll. I use a vanilla flavor protein powder, oat milk, cinnamon and butter buds along with ice. It might sound weird but once you blend it all up taste like a yummy cinnamon roll!

Great product!
Low sodium, tastes great! I mix a teaspoon in with a bit of water and use it on bread or over popcorn! When I was working in market research back in the early 80's I first saw Butter Buds ...and a whole cookbook was made around it.Sadly, it's not in a lot of stores now, but luckily it's still on Amazon!I don't think it is available in Europe, which is a real disappointment!PS...the Powder form in the packet has some quar gum in it for thickening and can be liquified into 1 pint of water for a "sauce"...and used in recipes, even in baking (along with Egg Beaters, for example. Butter Busters the Cookbook (used here on Amazon) from the 90's had many recipes using liquified Butter Buds and recipes can be found online by searching as well. If you go to bbuds.com under Food Service/Recipes you can find larger scale recipes that can be modified...desserts, etc. all types of recipes!

tasty shelf stable option, budget friendly "butter", excellent addition to pantry, preps
I hadn't used Butter Buds in many years. Totally forgot about the existence of this product until I was looking for powdered butter to add to my pantry. While I didn't get this instead of powdered butter, I did get it in addition to it. I just wanted to try it out, and since it is also shelf stable, I figured it wouldn't hurt to add it to my pantry.I think I will continue to keep this on hand. It is rather lovely to have something that is super quick and ready to go. Definitely a convenience item, but these days (shortages, availability, pricing) it may just be a needful thing for many folks. I dont usually add butter to my vegetables, but sometimes I want "something", and this is a budget friendly, tasty option. Works well on "moist" foods such as vegetables, potatoes, pasta, or even a shake over chicken or shrimp. Not low sodium, but not off the chart either.Sort reviews by "most recent" for more relevant information.Ingredients:MALTODEXTRIN, BUTTER,* SALT, NATURAL BUTTER FLAVOR, RICE STARCH, SOYBEAN LECITHIN, ANNATTO (FOR COLOR) AND TURMERIC.'

Great replacement for butter!
Purchase these online because I unfortunately can’t find Butter Buds in stores anymore for some reason. They are perfect to sprinkle on steamed vegetable if you’re trying to avoid actual butter as they do add a nice butter flavor!

Great low fat butter substitute
I hate margarine but love butter flavor. The problem is that I'm dieting to cut bodyfat and I can't have butter for a few months. I saw Ronnie Coleman using this in his grits so I decided to give this a try.Bottom line: I love this stuff! I use it in oatmeal. I've used it on corn. I've used it in rice. On potatoes and more. The taste is good enough to satisfy my butter cravings and no so overly chemical tasting. I carry it with me everywhere. Highly recommended!

Smells rancid and tastes nothing like butter.
I opened two bottles and they smelled exactly the same, like very old oil that turned rancid.I tasted both using the damp tip of my index and then sprinkled on my pasta, and in both cases, the taste was as bad as the smell. To be completely objective, I have asked my daughter’s opinion and after smelling the powder, she tasted it with her finger and decided that she would not try it in her food. That is how bad this product is.There is nothing reminding me of butter aside from the color.I’ve included the batch number as it might be a bad batch, but as far as I’m concerned, this is a product that I cannot recommend.
