If I can well do it everybody should be able to
I Love this lock it has made my life so easy I have accordion-style iron gates on the front of my class office door and was always coming or going with a handful of something. Trying to maneuver with a key was awful. I opened the package with no problem and an injured thumb you have to devise where to cut the package and did the fingerprints like a pro. I have had no problems in the months that I have had it and no failures to perform thus far. I use the lock indoors which is what I purchased it for. I recommended it to everyone until the price went from $99 to $249 Arrrrrggghhh.

UNRELIABLE FUNCTIONALITY! SAVE YOURSELF FROM HEADACHES!!!
I buy American-made when possible, so chose this lock vs much cheaper versions (whose software I found invasive and whose construction was less sturdy). HOWEVER: Battery went dead w no prior yellow low-battery warning indicator; emergency 9-volt opening technique wouldn't work. Only had it a little over a month, and have been careful to keep the silicone cover in place (the removable portion of which falls off easily w normal use); so not suffering from effects of extreme weather. VERY DISAPPOINTING!Update June 2021 - Things I've learned in 9 months of headaches w this lock:1) You cannot use rechargable batteries in it, they must be single use CR2's.2) The 9 volt you use for emergency/backup opening has to be BRAND NEW. I bought 3 pricey name-brand 9volts from various local stores before getting 1 that worked. (These were not ie Dollar Stores, they were my local Lowes, etc)3) The biometric is basically USELESS! Mine was storing 3 users, and for any of us it worked on about 30% of attempts.4) It is better - but not great - when opened with the "preset code" = using the 4-way keypad. Using this it opens on about 2/3 - 75% of the attempts.5) In 9 months, I've yet to have a yellow low-battery indicator come on, although have had to replace the battery twice, and that was with it being out of use for all but the 1st month I had it.6) They do have polite and helpful customer service, but that does little to solve the fact that you may be, as I am, stuck having paid $100+ for very unreliable keypad-only functionality. (Heaven-forbit it fail to open 3 times in a row, that means you have to wait thru the security reset of 1-2 minutes.)7) I was initially told that they stand behind their products for 1 year, and although I've made 2 extended customer service phone calls; I have not been offered the ability to return the lock for either replacement or refund...only "fixes" for the immediate problem being experienced.8) I replaced this Masterlock w an Igloohome keypad only (no biometric) padlock that was $10+ dollars cheaper and all the users in my household are thrilled with that one. It is on an outside security gate which allows access to our midwestern front porch, so aside from having multiple users it has taken a particularly hard/cold/wet winter. The Igloo is also heavier in construction, and does not need a silicone outer/removable "skin" as does this Masterlock version - 1 portion of which, as I mentioned above, repeatedly falls off even given tender care during use.9) 1 more note: many of the cheaper biometric and/or smart locks have exceptionally invasive apps that are required. Several we tried wanted access to everything in your device just to accomplish set-up. Buyer beware.

This is an indoor padlock
This lock is a well built, secure unit as the name on the package would indicate. That being said, I find it almost impossible to open this Masterlock in the morning, the rain or the cold weather. If your fingers are cold or wet forget the fingerprint reader and use the alternate push button code instead. Same goes for the lock itself. I was hoping to make access to the storage quicker and easier without having to remember the key. Now I have to remember a dry rag, a heat gun and open within 10 seconds of leaving the house. This is a great lock but not for all locations.

Take tension off the locking loop
I like this lock, I have tried many that fail usually because of rechargeable batteries but this lasts a long time and you can use an emergency battery. It will not unlock if you have any "weight" on the locking loop so I just squeeze it shut before using fingerprint. Not a fan of the two piece rubber skin that is supposed to protect it, it seems to have no value at all and good luck making it stay on the lock. Would like a version that could be managed over WiFi.

strongest and easiest lock I've seen
Programming was dead-easy to learn. Will save several prints. Has way to supply power if/when the battery finally gives out, so you can replace the battery.DOESN'T USE THE INTERNET OR BLUETOOTH! A big 'plus' in my opinion. The extra thick shackle (11/32") required me to enlarge the holes in a few of my hasps; but a small price to pay for the extra security.I like it. I plan to buy more

On 3rd replacement
The first lock wouldn't unlock with default code. I contacted Master Lock and after unssucessfully trying to get lock registered on website they told me the lock may have been tampered with and to return it.Received 2nd lock and was able to program it but lock stopped working on second day, sensor and keypad no power. Jumped with 9 volt battery and lock wouldn't accept finger print or default code.Contacted Master Lock, waiting for 3rd lock.

Avoid this lock like the plague!
I’ve had this lock for 6 months with incredibly poor fingerprint reading rate outside (like 1 in 25 readings) and mainly used the default up/down code to open. Contacted Masterlock last week on this, who graciously sent another one Friday, but after favorable weather conditions this weekend, the high failure rate persists on these locks. There is clearly a major design flaw with Masterlock on the fingerprint reader. Honestly with the feedback on this forum on these issues, this is borderline class action lawsuit for a product that is 4x the price of similar Chinese models, and same or worse reliability on fingerprint reading. I truly expected a whole lot more from an American company on something like this, but walk away hugely disappointed and out $130. So much for buying American for better quality. STAY AWAY from this lock.
