The Stranglers - Live at Alexander Palace
From the moment I heard Peaches in the music charts back in 1977 I became an instant follower of The Stranglers. It has been a long time since Hugh Cornwell left the band (1990) and although I very much enjoy Paul Roberts' more lively performance as lead singer, it is great to look back and see Hugh again and the band as they were. Just a night or so before this concert at Alexander Palace I saw them at The Hummingbird in Birmingham; the format on this DVD is slightly different from what I recall of the tour and I suspect that this concert has been edited and shortened (unfortunately taking out one or two really good bits!!) which is my only disappointment. This DVD along with Friday the Thirteenth and Euro Live is a must for any fan - turn the lights out, turn the sound up and the only thing that is missing is somebody treading on your boots, not knoing how much longer you can stand up at the front row and the smell of sweaty bodies!! Combine what you see on the DVD with your memory and you've got some great entertainment.

Original Stranglers is Always The Stranglers!
I really did like too see the original line-up at their last show with the right singer.Although he looked a bit tired.Anyway it did meet my expectations.

the stranglers live at the ally pally
The Stranglers live at Alexandra Palace DVD is an excellent record of what was to be Hugh Cornwalls last gig with the band, the first song Toiler on the Sea is by its self worth the money but there are many other highlights such as Golden Brown, Excellent Picture Quality and Great Sound , An Essential Purchase If Your A Fan But Even If Your Not Its Well Worth A Watch.

Not Their Finest Hour
Not Their Finest Hour. A million miles away is where Hugh wanted to be and it shows. Not the greatest setlist either from what was already a collection of classics in the top draw. Once again the performances of the band are menacing, aggressive, loud and in your face (2015) sadly this is not so..

buy it! watch it! watch it! watch it! watch it! watch it!
If u r a stranglers fan and u own a DVD player then u have to have this DVD. I owned the said concert on VHS, and to be honest on VHS it is CRAP. The DVD version just knocks the pants of the VHS. Every instrument is so well defined. I piped my sony DVD player thru my Mission Cyrus one amp to my B&W speakers, that sat proudly on my new stands, It it was like being there. When the camera zooms in on an instrument you can REALY pick out the sound being played. And when jj's bass kicks into life on Hanging around,I just kept watching it over and over again. When I saw the Stranglers preform Golden Brown for the 1st time on the La Folie tour (Manchester Appollo), the hairs on the back of my next stood on end, Watch the version on this DVD thru a decent sound system and you will fell the same. Its Electric, but I must admit if u r not a Stranglers fan, Like my wife, it's just another DVD. But like I said If u r a Stranglers fan and U own a DVD player, BUY IT. Also if u have Themeninblack on CD and U want to sell it mail me.

1990年、ストラングラーズのライヴ
1990年8月11日、アレクサンドラ・パレスでのライヴ。 全15曲、約60分、モノクロ映像、日本語字幕無し。 14曲目にキンクスの「All Day and All of the Night」を演奏している。
