Kelly Kettle Stainless Steel Small Hobo Stove - Fits Trekker model

Love this stove. This one is the smaller Hobo model designed to work with the Trekker Kelly Kettle model--if you have the Base or the Scout Trekker models, you need to get the larger version. And make sure you only use this with the stainless steel fire base--not the aluminum one, as the heat output can destroy the aluminum base--so if you need to replace your aluminum base, go to the website and pick it up.Now, the Kettle itself is fantastic for emergency, extended trips, BOB use, or long term survival options. It lets you use gathered fuel and go to full boil with less fuel than an open fire requires. And it lets you tend needs from purification to hygiene to medical to cleaning, etc. With the previous pot support that fit on the top of the chimney, you had to really watch stability and pot size--but with this new addition to the line, those problems are no longer issues. And everything fits neatly together, so bulk isn't a problem. Now you can cook using less fuel and faster than an open fire--and use the set up in areas requiring a 'contained fire' or ones where impact on the land needs to be kept to a minimum.As for what kinds of pots to use, you've got a lot of choices. It should be obvious that no, this does NOT include cast iron. (Some people are idiots, so I thought I'd avoid the inevitable question.) It does include the Zebra Billy line, MSR pots, the non tapered wide mouthed Guyot bottle, and the larger wide mouthed Klean Kanteen water bottles. Think Nalgene size and bigger, not narrow or small diameter stuff like most of the 18 or 21 oz. bottles or similarly sized cups.Anyway, add this stove to your set up. It really gives you options for a very acceptable minor amount of weight.

glad they finally made a size for the "Trekker" kettle. Works fine, light weight, and was able to fit in bag the kettle came with. Also very good to use with only the base.

Great product. Cook and boil water. Awesome concept. I have the trekkers now I would like to upgrade to the base camp model.

I also bought the Kelly Kettle, which I had read about in a novel. If you are camping or lose power, the kettle fits over this little stove. You build a little fire with sticks or wood chips within the stove, then set the Kelly Kettle on top. You can boil water in the kettle or place a pan of food above the kettle or directly over the stove. It all fits in a mesh carrying bag that comes with thr Trekker. Everything arrived quickly!

I love Kelly Kettle. I have a big one and a small one. Just wanted the hobo stove to complete the set. Also ordered the new pot support and its much more versatile than the old style.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a single petson kettle/ cook kit. No need to carry fuel. Fits in my backpack. Heats water for tea or coffee in minutes. Love it.

The product worked as designed. It is well made and I would buy it again.
