Great camera! Practice & Learn the settings first!
Even though mine was refurbished. Worked wonders. Great videos on and in the water just make sure you wash off the pool and salt water or sand with clean water and let dry completely before opening camera. The pics were clear under water. Advice: play with the different settings before you plan to use it. The night portrait and night landscape made our pics amazing on the sunset. And there is also an under water, beach and even a snow option as well so make sure you play with those so you get the perfect shot each time.

Great camera!
We bought the AW-130 for our vacations- snorkeling and other watersports. While we have not yet gotten it wet, we are really pleased with the performance of the camera as a point and shoot on land. It's got better low-light response than the other older Nikon point and shoots we own. The camera is well built and solid, and operates much like the others we own, so no learning curve. Can't wait to take it to the beach!3-05-16 update. I've now taken it snorkeling, and it was a pleasure to use. Easy access to the controls, easy to see the screen, and it took great underwater pictures for a point and shoot camera.

Perfect for travel
We just got back from our first cruise, which is why we bought this camera. It was perfect for touring cities and taking pictures underwater. I usually use a Canon DSLR on vacations... So, while I did miss some of the flexibility associated with a manual camera, I didn't miss the giant lenses, the time it usually takes to set up a shot, the extra weight, etc. And, the pictures turned out great!

disappointed......
I was so exited to use this camera under the sea. That's why I bought it, but I tottally disappointed this camera.Because when I went to the sea for used it, the water came into inside the camera. After it couldn't turn it again, and the water is still inside.(I did change to water mode before started to use, and also cover was tottally closed.)I used to use Nikon Degital camera(Cool Pix and D series), but I was so sad at this situation. If you thinking about buy camera for use under the sea, I don't recommend to buy this camera.

Storm proof, waterproof, sharp. It's a point and shoot.
I purchased this to replace a finicky waterproof camera. This camera works well. It takes sharp pictures. There are some major pluses and some major minuses that follow. Some facts: it has six modes - scene, portrait, soft, smart portrait, movie and macro. Shake reduction is nice, it has a 3x optical zoom and additional digital zoom. It can find location via GPS, has a map function, and is Wi-Fi enabled. It will sink in water. Some advice: RTFM! Okay? There are some very cool features (I LOVE the Wi-fi to my phone thing) that are a bear to try to figure out without the manual in front of you.Pluses: in auto or scene mode, it works very well.Minus: you are always in an automatic mode - manual adjustment is not possible. Grr. This is an issue with low light/night conditions when things are far away or flash shouldn't be used. You can turn the flash off but it may turn itself back on after turning itself off.It is absolutely waterproof - I used it in high wind conditions (aftermath of a EF-1 tornado) to take pics of storm damage while it was pouring out. No issues with the camera. A couple of pics caught rain drops reflected off the flash but par for the course.Minus - do we really need to see the warning screen (waterproof integrity) EVERYTIME?Plus - Battery lasts a long timeMinus - battery meter is not good at predicting battery depletion - carry extras! And a battery charger!Minus - it sinks. Fairly quickly. The back is not hi- vis when the camera is depowered. Get a float strap if you're out on (or in) the water. Nikon tells you it sinks - believe them.Minus - the electronics are not protected in the camera from moisture if the battery compartment is opened or isn't sealed (if grit gets on the sealing surface). BE VERY CAREFUL. I rinse the camera off with clean water (filtered tap water or bottled water), dry it off and then let it dry before opening the compartment. Water inside will KILL the camera.Summary: it's a great little Point-and-shoot. It is a bit limiting in that we are not allowed to control aperture of shutter speed directly but it takes great pics. Hence four stars and not five but hey, I like control.

This is a great camera. Easy to use and most importantly easy ...
***UPDATE*** So my original review was of the first time I used the camera. It worked fine; however, when I left for my cruise a month or so later, it would not take pictures at all. I tried everything. A camera shop wants $100 to diagnose what the problem is and I paid $200 for this camera; still deciding if it's worth it. I am past the 90 warranty on the camera, so I'm stuck. I would like to love this camera, but i wish it would have been fixed the first time or I know what is wrong with it so it can be fixed without it being the cost of a new one. This is a great camera. Easy to use and most importantly easy to use while under water scuba diving. Great clarity and so far the best camera I've used.*I hope my review was helpful for you!

The camera worked great, the first two days I used it on ...
The camera worked great, the first two days I used it on vacation. Then the latch for the battery & SD card area broke on the third day. This makes the camera no longer waterproof (and this of course was the day I needed that feature). So now I have to have tape around the compartment and can not use it for underwater pictures. Furthermore, since I purchased the camera at Christmas as a gift to myself for my upcoming vacation, the return / repair option has expired. I should also mention, I can not explain why the locking feature broke. There was no drop, or damage of any kind.
