Q: Does it work with omron bp742n? another person asked and the answer was no but the compatibility states that it is compatible with bp742n? confused.

It did not work with my BP742N. I have another older Omron monitor and the old AC Adapter with it DOES work with the BP742N. I recommend only paying the extra cost and buying the Omron AC Adapter, not this one.

Q: Can i use this in the philippines?

You might also need a second adaptor to use the power source in the Philippines, as I am not sure what current the use there.

There is not much different you could do. I did exactly the same as you and it worked for me. Perhaps you might try it in another electrical outlet and make certain the adapter is securely plugged into the back Omron 10 monitor. I don't think there is any special trick, it is basically straight foward.

Q: can this be used instead of batteries

Yes it can. The one thing you lose is the date and time when you unplug it. Any data is stored as near as I can tell. Was going thru 4 batteries in less than a month. So got the AC adapter. Keep batteries in it, to keep the date and time, and for the rare times I'm not at an electrical outlet. Would definitely recommend it. Cheap for the price of 4 batteries every month. Payback is around 5 months.
