The Original TummyTub is a unique womb-shaped and sized bath that eases baby's transition from a familiar, safe place to an unknown world. Enormously popular in Europe, this alternative to the standard baby bath makes bath time stress-free for babies and parents alike! The TummyTub can be used from the birth up to 3 years. The benefits are acknowledged in maternity hospitals and homes throughout Europe, and endorsed by physicians, midwives and nursery nurses. Babies naturally adopt the fetal position and it is amazing to see how quickly they calm and relax. The TummyTub is also the perfect green tub for babies because it requires less water, energy, and space and is completely BPA and toxin free, while being fully recyclable!

Seems great, but not practical
I purchased the Tummy Tub on my sister-in-law's recommendation. I balked at the price, initially, but everyone raved about how great it was, so I decided to try it out. I thought it was great at first. You can give your baby a bath anywhere, the sink, tub, floor, etc. Because of the shape, younger babies can sit up by themselves when they are inside the bath tub, before they can sit up elsewhere, and they stay warm. Both of my babies loved the tub, but they grew out of it quite quickly. We didn't purchase the stand, we just put the tub in the sink to save us from bending over, and that worked well. It is much better than giving newborns baths in the kitchen sink, but I found it awkward when you really wanted to scrub a sticky little 7 month old. I found myself just getting in the regular bath tub with my babies (after they were about four months) and washing them that way. We ended up using it mostly as a toy bucket and baby doll bath tub. I do appreciate that the tub is BPA free and recyclable, but I wish I had purchased an in-the-tub seat-type bath aid for my kids.

Love this tummy tub aslmost as much as my daughter
I love this tub almost as much as my little girl does. This is my first child but my wife's third and she used the normal toddler tub for the older two kids. She was hesitant at first and I had some friends make comments about saving money and getting a homer bucket at home depot instead. I'm so glad that I got this tummy tub as my little girl just absolutely loves her baths. My wife has mentioned that the only downside could be it is a little harder to wash her hair and takes a little practice at first to get used to keeping her head afloat while washing her. There are youtube videos online you can find with tips for this.

The best baby tub I've used!
As a new grandmother, but a well experienced mom, baby sitter and licensed day care provider, this is the best baby tub I've used. Bought one for m'new grand baby... and keep it handy, because he loves it! Follow directions: tepid water, not to exceed the clearly marked water line, and hold up the little tyke's chinny-chin-chin! And voila! Your baby will love it! The serene look on our wee one's face told the story. Just before we popped him in, he was howling... when he found himself in the water, he smiled! Must be reminiscent of being in the womb! I'm keeping this tub for the next baby... after that, I'll use it for a flower pot! Won't his college friends love to hear the story!?

Bad tub, Good Photo Prop
This "tub" is challenging to review. It is a VERY overpriced plastic bucket. Sure, the edges are rounded and there is an anti-slip pad on the bottom, and it is not made in china - but it is still a bucket. Furthermore, our son hated it when he was 3 months and he hated it when he was 6 month. He's regular tub is The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling, Blue which is great. One of the big problems with Tummy Tub is that with this design it is impossible to add additional warm water with the child inside (head will be submerged).Having said all of that, we got some absurdly adorable photos and videos of our baby sitting in this tub. So, the take away is this, don't buy this for washing your child, it is expensive and much harder to use than available alternatives. But, if your budget allows, Tummy Tub makes for a great photo prop resulting in pictures that will last a life time.

Great Alternative To Traditional Baby Bath Tubs
My baby loves this. The concept is great. Fill it up so that his shoulders are covered and he stays warm and gets the feeling of being back in the womb. It also saves space, can be put in most sinks or on small counters. Perfect for apartment living. The drawbacks are that in the beginning, you need two people to give your baby a bath, one to hold the baby up so that he doesn't swallow water and one to do the cleaning/shampooing. The other thing is, the product is expensive for what it is. Really, this can be done in a large bucket that you buy for $5 at your local Home Depot or a horse tack shop. I don't see anything more special about this then a horse's water bucket. It is a great way to bathe your baby and my 4 week old loves it, never cries, but you can use the concept without having to pay $50 for the product.

Baby loves it!
My baby had her first bath in this tub when she was only a few weeks old, she loved it then and she loves it now at 4 months old. From the minute I put her in it until I take her out, she is a calm and happy baby. It is a nice basic tub made out of non-toxic materials. It may have the same shape as a bucket, but it is nothing like bucket. There are no sharp plastic edges or imperfections like you would find in a cheap bucket and it has a solid non-skid base and easy to grip handles. Of course, not everyone is going to like or appreciate this tub, but this baby and her mommy loves it!

Great product
When my wife first told me to look into this product, I thought that this was an overpriced bucket and I already had a similar one in my garage that I used to wash the car. However, upon receiving it and trying out, the Tummy Tub delivered as promised as our little guy loves being taking baths now and would now only fuss when you take him out. It's a little difficult to use when they are still developing their neck control, but once they do, it is a joy to use and bath time doesn't feel like such a chore any more. This is a very solid product and definitely worth the value.

Best baby bath out there
I absolutely love these tubs! I have purchased one for all of my friends having babies after receiving one as a gift. They are of such high quality and I feel are much safer than the traditional bath tubs. They use VERY LITTLE water, I was shocked!
