Grizzly Industrial G0925 - 8" Baby Benchtop Drill Press

The motor has a nice quiet hum to it. Built very durably and feels sturdy. Great product for the price. Only thing I wish it came with was some sort of guides/clamps built in to feed the wood into so it stays put.

Solid, affordable, great addition to my small shop! The guard around the chuck is a pain, and often in the way. I wish I had omitted it, because now I would have to take the chuck off to remove it. Other than that, it's everything I need.

This is a good deal for the money, It is not for heavy duty work, even on a small scale, but adequate for many kinds of jobs. Accurate enough.The cast iron is painted a gorgeous thick emerald green enamel.It is smaller and light than my old 10" delta. I got it because I wanted something small, accurate for light duty drilling that I could carry over to wherever I'm working and my 10 10" press is too big and heavy to carry without a hassle. This light for a drill press, which for my purposes is good.It's not particularly difficult to put together, I did it in about 15 - 20 minutes. Good instructions. Without the 3 page assembly guide with pictures, you might not figure out how to assemble depth gauge. It is attached to the drill chuck guard assembly that is clamped onto the spindle sleeve with a screw and nut.Adjustable chuck guard may look like it gets in the way, but flips open so you can easily drill anything without it and change bits. But if you do have scraps flying it will definitely help keep them out of your face. But don't forget eye protection.Biggest objection is the depth gauge 'ruler' is just metallic "foil" paper ruler marks sticky backing, and I'm not sure how well that will stay in place over time. with ruler marks on it. I'm tempted to buy a thin metal ruler, cut it into a small strip, and epoxy it on as a durable more solid looking replacement. But probably won't ever need to or bother really.

Surprisingly solid for the price. The red plastic guard on the new model is flimsy and gets in the way, but it’s unnecessary and easily removed. Overall I’m happy with the purchase.

The unit comes well packaged, is sturdy, runs smoothly and quietly, and is accurate. I am very happy with it.

Be sure to read supplemental instructions before beginning assembly. The shield and depth gauge must be installed before you install the chuck. Other than that, easy to assemble and performs well, especially for the money. It is also heavy enough to do most small jobs without bolting the unit down yet is easy to move and store.
