Landmann 28335 Big Sky Stars and Moons Fire Pit, Georgia Clay, 12.5-inches Deep

Their shipping methods are horrible. The box came crushed, with gaping holes. Their issue, not UPS. The cardboard that made the box was paper thin. Through the holes fell all of the hardware so I have never been able to use the spark guard.At the time I purchased it (last minute for a party) I was forced to keep it because of my logistics. Got around many months later to contact the manufacturer about missing parts. In the middle of the pandemic. They get extra points for addressing my issue and ordering replacement parts.The problem is, their shipping container was even lower quality, the box totally trashed, spark guard totally bent and crushed and once again, missing hardware. So I still have a pit with no spark guard.The pit is beautiful but I will never order one from the place again if it has to get shipped to me.

After all the amazing reviews for this thing, I gladly bought it and couldn't wait to use it for the first time. Well, after just 1 fire, I went to clean it up in the morning and to my surprise the Georgia Clay finish is peeling all over the stars and moons. It's completely flaking off! Not everywhere, but apparently one spot that didn't get good "heat resistant" paint coverage.Disappointed and upset, I took a photo and went to Landmann's website for an email or phone number. I found an email and sent the details of my purchase from Amazon and the photo of the flaking paint. Here is their exact response. "All of the fire pits will peel after use, the paint is a heat resistant paint but no paint will hold up to the heat of a fire. The only thing you could do is sand off the area and repaint it with a heat resistant paint. Again this will not last when this is used."SO BE WARNED, THEY SAY THE PAINT WILL NOT LAST. I replied and told them I realize nothing can withstand fire over a long period of time, but after 1 use?? Come on. I'll submit my photo on Amazon for all to see.If you dont care about the paint, then it's a nice firepit that is a little hard to fit together during assembly, but other than that, serves its purpose of containing a fire.UPDATE: The customer service department informed me that their "paint is good to 1000 degrees." So I went to Autozone and bought "Rust-Oleum 248903 Automotive 12-Ounce High Heat 2000 Degree Spray Paint, Flat Black" to coat the firepit. This should be the standard paint they use to begin with. Oh well, at least future buyers who read this will know!

This fire pit was just delivered today. I was very excited to get it since I had researched fire pits for a week and found this one to be the best deals for the money. When I took it out of the box, much to my dissapointment, I found the fire pit had an egg shape to it. It was bent way out of shape. The box looked fine so I don't think this happened during shipping. This is the worst item I've ever received and I do a lot of on-line shopping. Thank you very little Landmann for the horrible quality control. I took the day off work in anticipation of receiving this fire pit and spent a large part of the day getting landscape pavers laid down and getting ready for cooking on it tonight. Now our plans are ruined due to someone not caring enough to send out a quality product. And I have to spend my own money shipping it back to Amazon. How is that fair??? I gave this product one star because that's as low as I couuld rate it but I actually give it NEGATIVE 10 STARS!!! Major buyers remorse on this one!!! BUYER BE WARE!!!

I realize that this is not the most expensive fire pit on the market, but I was not anticipating issues after its first use. The inside paint began to peel away after one night of use. While this may not affect things too much, aesthetics are important. A new car might still drive fine even if the paint starts to peel after one outing, but what does that say about the manufacturer of the car? I guess my point is that this seems like a cheap product if the paint is affected after one use. It makes me question if there are any other problems on the horizon.

None of the hand rails were constructed to line up with screw holes. Impossible to attach them so I wasted an hour of my time trying to assemble it. It could’ve been a defect with just this one but certainly not worth the money either way. Keep away.

I put it together and that went smoothly..it looked great siiting there..no rain for days so next night i fired it up and burned some skid wood and hard wood logs in it..not extremely hot but it was blazing....fire smoldered all night and then i got it going in the morning with the embers...about then the paint started peeling off. it is about 50% off now and i have no idea why. I just know it should"nt be peeling off.

A poorly manufactured piece of crap. The ring sections don't fit in the holes that were made for them, it's like the square peg/round hole scenario. Junk.

Unfortunately, it was delivered with huge dent in side.

Received multiple warped pieces. The rim and the spark cover.

Pros: Looks good, easy to assemble, has grill grid.Cons: very thin and cheap metal, requires sand(!) on bottom which makes it very hard to clean from ash, metal mesh lid is impossible to put or remove when fire is on, the hookstick is too long and heavy to deal with.Bottom line: purchase if you just need a bowl with grid for not-often use and if you can ignore all small inconveniences and have another, more convenient hookstick to move the wood and coal. I found it is good enough to keep.

This fire pit is large enough to accommodate the logs we had and gave off good warmth. Perfect for outdoor gatherings. Had some difficulty with assembling as some of the screw holes did not perfectly allign.

Bought a year ago and finally assembling. No poker, no welded nuts for grill pins, and no grill pins. Ergo, neither screen nor grill will fit. Will have to drill and add bolts and hope they hold. Did I get a knock off?
