Great for large open spaces, bad for nooks and crannies
I'm on a quest for the perfect broom. With three kids and wood floors, I sweep A LOT. I never knew I cared so much about a broom, but I recently had to say goodbye to an Ikea broom that had a great stand up dustpan with it. That thing was AWESOME and I'd had it for years. When I went to replace it, I found Ikea had discontinued it and brought it in a much inferior broom (light, bristles splayed and didn't seem to sweep well). I turned to the internets, and ended up with a Thai broom from the local Asian Market. Possibly the worst broom in the history of mankind. It was the perfect height for my kids...so quite short for me, and the worst part was that it shed constantly. So you were sweeping up bristles and bristle remnants along with whatever you actually planned to sweep up. Total fail. A broom should not cause more mess. Why do I tell you this? So you understand my quest. I now try brooms everywhere I go, searching for The One. It may not exist, but this one is pretty good!I ordered this from amazon and the packaging was quite dismal. The first arrived with part of the plastic piece broken off, and it would have worked, but you need to be able to open that piece to remove the foam when you want to wash it (yes, I wash my broom. I'm broom crazy, remember?). But in fast amazon fashion, they let me return the broken one and had a new one on my doorstep in two days, and it was not broken. This sweeps well, which is, of course the most important part. It's a lightweight broom and I wouldn't recommend leaning it somewhere it might fall, as that plastic piece I mentioned that holds the foam seems like it could break easily. This does an excellent job sweeping - since there aren't bristles, the floor crud doesn't splay out at the edges and cause you to re-sweep areas. However, since it's a block of foam, it doesn't get into edges or crevices well. It's strange getting used to the feel of the foam on the floor - very different than bristles - but it really sweeps quickly and efficiently. If you need to get just under the stove or in the space between the fridge and the cabinets, you'll need a second, different broom.I'd love to just have ONE broom that does it all, and I'm skeptical about the longevity of this broom, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. It's good...but it's not my holy grail broom. The quest continues.

Works better than a broom!
IThis works better than a broom on all of my floors. It collects all the dust, pet hair, crumbs, etc. I'm ready to buy a new one.

Best broom for pet and human hair removal
My search is over! I saw a blurb about these types of brooms on a 'best of' article. Decided to give it a try. I have two dogs and people in my house with long hair. Swiffers do the work but I didn't want to continue to buy the refills and I appreciated the environmentally friendly aspect of this product.Back to this broom - I ordered a spare broom head as well. Easy to assemble the broom and as soon as I went to work on my hardwood and tile floors, I found this worked as well as my Swiffer. Easy to clean. I'm totally happy!

Best Broom
I had a similar foam broom such as this over 30 years ago. I'm so glad to find this again as it was always the best broom for hardwood/linoleum floors around, especially with today's brooms which are hard, synthetic brooms which seem to leave more on the floor than you get into the dustpan. Highly recommend this for anyone who has hard floors. Very easy to use and very easy to clean if needed.

Great for pet hair
I ordered this to use on tile and laminate floors to sweep up pet hair. It works great. Cleaning the hair off the broom is a bit of a challenge; I find running a sheet of sticky animal hair remover over the broom does the trick.

The Wonder Broom for Pet Owners
This broom is invaluable and was worth the wait (I waited and waited and waited....almost canceling my order). I have 3 dogs and this broom effectively gathers the pet fuzz with far more ease and fewer re-sweeps than a regular broom. I love my dogs, hate their hair, and have contemplated buying a light vacuum to handle daily passes through the house, because pulling out the big vac is just a hassle. I've decided that I'd rather save the money and use this to take care of the fur on the hardwoods...it's gentler on the floors and requires almost as little effort.By performance alone I want to give it 5 stars, but the handle twists and comes loose too easily. I really don't mind but the average sweeper might.

Works great on animal hair
I have 2 German Shepherds and a long haired cat. Lots of fur! This broom corrals it in no time. It has cut my sweeping time in half. I bought an extra foam head at the same time. I’m glad I did since I don’t want to be without it. I highly recommend this product.

Wiggly little bugger
I really like the foam broom. Picks up aLot of hair and we’re a pretty hairy family lol. What I didn’t like is the ease of it unscrewing itself. Had to tighten it many times during a regular sweep. Ended up gaffer taping it. Yay Rick Green!

I invented this
At least as a concept ages ago :) - I've wanted a way of quickly and hygienically wiping down the floor in the same way I wipe down all the other work surfaces without resorting to the full bucket and mop experience for ages.It seems such a logical device to have around - but none of the shops I've visited had anything that came near to providing what I wanted and making one myself wasn't going to be easy.A little searching and luck finally revealed that (of course) someone had beaten me to it and when it arrived it was immediately clear that they'd done a very good job of it too. It may be simple but it's well made, robust and lightweight - If I had the resources this was just what I'd have wanted to produce. It says it's a dry duster but a couple of sheets of standard kitchen towel fix snugly into place and when moistened with a spray or two of a standard anti-bacterial cleaner keeps the floor acceptably clean and grease free. I'm not a cleaning fanatic but because it's no longer a big chore the job it gets done much more regularly than before. The three second rule covering food dropped on the floor will now be extended considerably thanks to this gadget.Combined with a three year guarantee - what's not to like.

Excellent and well worth the cost
I had a foam broom from Vileda which was absolutely wonderful. When you keep dogs this is the only kind of broom which actually traps fluff. Sadly Vileda stopped making their broom and I spent many hours trying to find a replacement. I was thrilled to find this product. I have to say it is not quite as brilliant as the Vileda one. The plastic holder which retains the foam tends to come apart on one side, but this is a minor fault and easily rectified. No one else appears to make this type of broom, so I do hope that they continue to produce. I heartily recommend this product whether you have animals or not. All dirt and fluff is retained and does not flick or float around, and you can get into all corners. Brilliant for all hard floors. Do not hesitate if you are thinking of this.

good for dust and pet fur!
I had serious doubts about this foam broom, but bought it because the reviews were so good - AND IT IS AMAZING. I live in a little apartment with two pets, and this broom leaves nothing on the floor AND attracts/catches the stray tumbleweeds of cat fur floating around. Also amazing at picking crumbs and dust off the floor. My only tiny complaint is it's much too wide to use with a dustpan, and the foam sometimes hangs on to debris and won't deposit it into the dustpan. I now just sweep everything into a corner and use a little vacuum to suck up the mess and run it over the foam.
