Great for road warriors!
This sunrise alarm clock was exactly what I needed. I travel frequently for work, so my schedule and time zone change a lot, and especially during the winter months a bit of “sunlight” in the morning makes waking up in a hotel room much easier. I've been using it since January and so far I have to recommend it.The clock arrived packaged nicely, and the shipping was surprisingly fast, even for Amazon. I selected standard shipping, but it was on my doorstep the next day!The clock itself is a nice size, not too big for travel, but not so small that I’ll forget it on the nightstand when I pack up leave in the morning, and it’s a nice shape. It’s also very light, so it doesn’t weigh your bag down. The light is definitely as bright as I could expect from a small clock, and the gradual increase in brightness as it simulates sunrise is smooth and natural feeling. I do recommend that you orient the clock to face directly toward yourself to get the maximum effect from the sunrise feature. The display is a bit hard to read in some light, but since every hotel room I’ve ever stayed in has a clock I can read from across the room, that’s not a big deal for me – I just want this clock for the sunrise feature.Setting the clock and the alarm is easy, and I like that it can be powered by battery or USB. The USB wall adapter that is included is a nice extra that is great when you forget batteries, which I do all the time. For me, it’s a great product for when I’m on the road, and I think it would be great for anyone else who's tires of waking up to an annoying beeping alarm in a dark hotel room all the time.

Does What It's Supposed To
I just started a new job that I have to wake up ridiculously early for. I'm a total night owl, unused to such an early rising, and needed something that would wake me gently in the early, dark hours. I've had one of the larger models before but the electricity where I live can be unreliable so I wanted a sunrise clock that could be operated solely on battery power. This clock has fit my needs perfectly. The backup alarm is gentle too and gradually gets louder (some alarms can be so loud and obnoxious!) ensuring that I actually get up. As another reviewer said, it does not give off a uniformly soft glow because you can see the individual led lights behind the plastic cover. That wasn't a problem for me though - I just need light to hit my eyelids to wake me up slowly.I use this with rechargeable batteries but it is nice to have the option to plug it in. Maybe if I'm travelling to a location with a more stable electricity supply then I can use the plug. The only reason for taking a star off is because of the price. I feel it should be around the $30 mark because it is lightweight and plastic, but it was the only model available that fit my needs perfectly so I was willing to pay a higher price for it.

cheap and overpriced
Love the concept, but the execution is lacking.Biggest problem: the time is not back-lit and the numbers are small and faint. I definitely can't see them at night, and I can't see the time from anywhere in the room except right next to it.It's a bit awkward to program, not intuitive, and it's easy to forget how it's done if you don't do it often.Size-wise it's a bit bulky to really travel with, but if you really want the sunrise feature on your travels, it's light enough to pack.It is made of plastic, entirely. It looks and feels cheap. When the light is on, you can see a whole bunch of LED pinpoints behind the white plastic. It does not glow nicely like the photo shows.

simple little clock
I purchased this clock to replace a sunrise alarm that had recently died. This clock works as described, but does not stay bright long enough to wake me up. It stays bright for maybe 15 minutes total, and most days I sleep right through it. It weighs VERY LITTLE without the batteries and would be great for travel. It is easy to set, which is always helpful.

Terrible value
I don't write many reviews, but due to the number of positive reviews on this item, I would have felt terrible if people continued to purchase this item based on the current reviews. This thing isn't all bad... it's lightweight, small-ish, and USB powered (and/or optional batteries). But that's where the good stuff stops. It feels ridiculously cheap. If this were selling for more like $10-$15, I would say it's acceptable... but at its current price point, it should be 10x stronger and more rigid. The light or "sunrise" is absolutely horrible. Everything about it. The color temperature feels like 1960s mental asylum. The farthest thing possible from a "sunrise." The dimming is so jerky and inconsistent, it could probably induce seizures.Bottom line: This thing is a piece of junk. If it was priced about 75% less than it is, it was MIGHT pass as moderately acceptable. I'm going to be returning this and trying out the Philips HF3500. I use the HF3520 at home and love it... just hoping the HF3500 will have similar quality but be more travel-friendly.

Works but oddly & does not seem like it will last long.
It was the least expensive. smallest sunrise clock out there but it is hard to work. Has weird quirks about the way it works. It works for now but it seems to be flimsy plastic so we will see for how long it works.

Good for travel only
I have the Lumie sunrise alarm clock, but it's too big for travel, so I bought the BioBrite. It's "okay" but really cheaply made and the flip out stand is very awkward to use. The light it produces is really pixilated - you can see the little bulbs behind the sheer cover, but it does work for travel purposes, so I can't complain too much. It really does help with jet lag too

Broke after 3 months
I liked this alarm for what it did when it actually worked. It's not the best quality for the price. It looks more like a $15 clock than a $50 something dollar one. The alarm clock stopped working after 3 months and now I'm out 50 bucks. I would have given it 3 stars when it was working but now it gets 2 since it broke.
