SLP 21028 1990-1996 Corvette 5.7 Liter Blackwing Cold Air Intake

Just installed on my original 18k mile 96 LT1. Super easy, 20 mins total, including taking off the old one. Can really feel the difference when hitting the gas. Good quality product. Waiting on my Force II Flowmaster cat back exhaust. Between that and this air intake should be a world of difference. The only thing the hose clamps supplied were white. I just spray painted them black to match. Good product, thumbs up...

The mounting spacers are too long, so the hood hits the intake. Will have to find something else or cut one in half. The stock mounting screws will probably then be too long.

Bought it from summit racing, but figured I'd put a review on Amazon too. I noticed an immediate gain in power after going for the first drive with it on. A dremel or metal file will be your best friend if you have a L98 engine. I have a 91 'Vette with the L98 motor, and had to do a little grinding on the lip where the coupler covers so it would fit, but the performance difference made it worth it. I went from 1/4 mile times of 14.5-14.7 before, to consistent 14.1's after. The noise it makes from under the hood is like music to my ears. You can hear it sucking the air in, even at idle. It looks great aswell. The reason that the filters are pink instead of blue is because I didn't want to order and wait for the SLP recharge kit, but will next time they need to be re-oiled.

Got this for my 1996 C4 with LT4. It's an awesome looking air intake with the 3 Blue come filters. Easy installation. 25 min install. There was a noticable difference in drivability and power. Not huge but noticable. This intake also made the engine louder. Use the 2 longer OEM airbox screws for the SLP intake.Of note I also installed the airfoil and larger MAF housing at the same time. Added another 2 hours of install time.
