Miserable customer service and performance. No longer offer parts
1. Used this dehumidifier for five years and now it no longer works. I took to a repair service and they told me that Honeywell told them they no longer supply parts for this product2. I attempted to call Honeywell myself and after several hours of getting disconnected, talking to people who did not know what a dehumidifier was, wanting to hang up on me because I was a "home-owner", and then finally being told that "sorry, you are outside the warranty, cannot help". I told them that I will actually pay for a repair, still nothing.3. This humidifier worked great when it worked, but keep in mind, you are on your own if anything goes wrong

Beware of Poor Warranty support
Product worked well for 3 seasons. Now it does not work. I tested compressor motor, it is fine. Suspect it has a refrigerant leak. Product has 5 yr warranty. Here is quote “if at any time during the warranty period the Product is determined to be defective or malfunctions, Honeywell shall repair or replace it (at Honeywell’s option).I’ve run the unit for 4 hours, not a drop of condensate. Seems like a malfunction to me.Honeywell needs to honor the warranty.

Works really well..removes a ton of water. Seems to be well built and simple to setup. I'm using the unit in my large crawl space. No condensate pump included so factor one in if you'r using this unit below grade.

Very expensive and only slightly more reliable than a stand-alone unit.
I bought a DR90A2000 through a local HVAC contractor. I bought this unit because the stand-only units were only lasting a few months. The DR90 lasted almost three years before failing. Honeywell replaced the unit but it still cost me $400 for tax, shipping and installation of the replacement. These units have a lot of vibration and I can hear it through out the entire house even though it is sitting on rubber pads on the cement floor in the basement. It takes a long time to lower the humidity level for 2500 sq ft and it is connected to the HVAC ducting. Starting at 60% humidity it over 48 hours to drop it to 50%.

Think Twice Before You Have One Of These Installed
Another Update 3/22/2019: Over a month ago, I placed another call to Honeywell for advice on my underperforming DR90 whole house dehumidifier. I told them that their replacement unit CONTINUED to underperform, and so the phone technician advised me to call another CERTIFIED installation contractor for a possible solution. So I called 5 Star Air Conditioning in Foley, AL, and the owner of the firm personally inspected my installation and advised me that the original installing contractor (ACTION HEATING AND COOLING OF MOBILE AL)had installed my unit in a way that it was unable to perform as designed. And because the unit had completely stopped working, Tyler of 5 Star Air Conditioning contacted Honeywell and arranged for another unit (this is my THIRD UNIT) to be furnished under the warranty agreement. After the unit was installed properly, now it is operating as it was originally designed.So..............after two years of living with a unit that ran but failed to dehumidify my house, I now have a unit that removes the humidity in my house. HERE'S MY RECOMMENDATION: Be CERTAIN that your installing contractor knows how to install the unit to achieve MAXIMUM performance. Just because a contractor is HONEYWELL CERTIFIED, you cannot be certain that he knows how to install a dehumidifier to achieve the best results. Properly installed, a HONEYWELL WHOLE HOUSE dehumidifier can be effective--but it definitely has to be installed in a way that achieves PEAK performance.Thank you, 5 STAR AIR CONDITIONING of Foley, AL, for your expertise and especially for taking the time to address some other contractor's problems and for making the necessary changes to achieve desired results.Another Update : 12/20/2018. My HVAC contractor completed his twice-annual checkup/service on my heat pump and DR 90 HONEYWELL dehumidifier. He reported that both are performing as designed.Yesterday, I woke up and the humidity reading in the house was 60%. Inside Temperature: 68degrees F. Outside temperature:59degrees F. I set the dehumidifier to 55%. Right now at 9:00AM (27 hours later), the dehumidifier has dropped the humidity reading from 60 to 59%. The house is TIGHT!The DR 90 made by HONEYWELL is a SCAM!UPDATE: 12/1/2018: Foley, AL. Outside temperature: 71 degrees, F. Raining,1580 SF home, 9' ceilings. Well insulated, tight windows and doors.Got up this morning, the humidity in the house was 59 percent. Inside temperature was 70 degrees F. I decided to lower the humidity. Set the dehumidifier thermostat to 55 percent, and the temperature to its lowest setting at 68 degrees. Two hours later, the humidity in the house has RISEN to 63 percent. The temperature is at its lowest at 68 degrees. The unit is obviously not operating as designed. This Honeywell unit is JUNK! Honeywell will not even address the problems. I cannot imagine that a company as well regarded as Honeywell would sell a product like this.Unit doesn't perform. Certified contractor installed DR 90 in a 1600 sf home.Home is tight and well insulated. Unit doesn't have the capacity to dehumidify the house without setting the cooling down to 69 degrees, which is too cold. Contractor used moisture meter in the house and determined the moisture level throughout is average to better than average. I wasted $3K on this unit. Would never use another whole house dehumidifier. Next time, I'll set the cooling down to 69 degrees and keep a window open. DON'T BE SWAYED BY A SLICK TALKING CONTRACTOR.UPdate: Today is Nov 6,2018. Outside temp is 73, slight mist in the air. My cooling is set at 74, The humidifier at 55. The dehumidifier has run CONTINUOUSLY, set at 55, for 30 hours! The humidity levels range from 57 to 62 throughout the period. THE UNIT IS TOO WEAK TO SERVE MY HOUSE, YET IT IS OVERSIZED BASED ON THE CHARTS. i AM CONVINCED THAT WHOLE HOUSE DEHUMIDIFIERS ARE USELESS.

What a shame
Had Honeywell Dehumidifier installed same time as my HVAC system. Dehumidifier ran great for almost 3yrs kept humidity level at 52% and temperature around 74-76 in my home during the summer. I started to noticed my electric bill was getting higher every month and the humidity in my home wouldn’t go down from 67% even when I lower the HVAC . I contact the original HVAC company that has installed everything and they came out and installed another Honeywell Dehumidifier since it was still under the original 5 yr warranty. But advised me that they had stopped installing Honeywell dehumidifiers due to this product was not reliable and Honeywell knows about the issues with this product but chooses not to correct. Well it’s been 42 days since I had the replacement installed and it’s not pulling out the humidity again and here in Fl I really need to have a reliable dehumidifier. Never will I or my friends purchase another Honeywell product.

I Will Never Buy Another Honeywell Product
This unit worked great for three years. This summer it has decided to stop working. It was diagnosed by the HVAC company as needing a Defrost Thermostat Honeywell part number 50070294-002. The part on this nearly new dehumidifier is according to Honeywell obsolete and there is no substitution now or in the future. I had Honeywell Tru-Steam humidifiers and DR 90 Dehumidifiers each of the 3 units that make up my HVAC system. Each and every one has failed. The Tru-Steams were replace when a class action suit was filed against Honeywell. I will never purchase another Honeywell product.

Great unit, this was a replacement for a similar prior model unit I installed 5 years ago, the old one outlasted those smaller units and did a better job. I do hope this unit outlasts the old one.
