Good, but loud.
This is overall a great kettle - the temperature control is super precise and it's nice to have the option to keep the kettle warm once it hits the desired temperature (note: if you want the kettle to stay warm, you have to click the "keep warm" button BEFORE starting it else it won't work). The kettle also comes with 6 preset temperatures for different teas and coffee. The water pours out beautifully - I use both AeroPress and Chemex to make coffee and it's the perfect kettle for both since I can pour precisely. I also make a lot of white/black teas and the preset temperatures are helpful for this.2 main issues:1. The NOISE is so aggressive. It makes a ridiculously loud beeping nose with no option to mute. You will hear a beep every time you use the dial to adjust the temperature (1 beep for every degree change), a beep every time you start the kettle, and 3 loud beeps every time the kettle hits temperature. Definitely not ideal when I'm making coffee at 6 6 am and my roommates are sleeping.2. Cleaning difficulty - since the opening of the kettle is narrow, it's hard to get hands in there to clean. I would recommend getting a cleaning brush with a longer handle to clean inside the kettle thoroughly. This is a minor inconvenience; the kettle itself cleans nicely. If you are looking for high-quality sleek kettle and with precise temperature settings you can't go wrong with this one - just be prepared for the noise!

Great kettle....extremely loud beeper
The kettle works great. Great pour, heats up accurately. Takes about 5 mins, if full, to heat 60-degree water to a boil. Less if doing tea, warm water, less water etc.Downside is it's beeper. It is SO LOUD. And it beeps for every single thing. Start it..BEEP. When it finishes...BEEEEP BEEEP BEEEP. If it's "warm" timer runs out... BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP. And it beeps every time you move the knob to change temp or preset. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP !!!!!!Very tempted to try to tear it apart to look for the beeper to disable it. Also I wish I could program the presets myself. But that's minor. Really, the kettle works well and looks nice on the counter. My pourover coffee is tasting great.

Set it and forget it.
I’ve been wanting one of these for a while as I drink various types of teas. I saw a good looking variable temperature tea kettle at my local coffee shop. Found the same model on Amazon but reviews were negative. I’m sure others know this drill. During my Amazon search, I stumbled on this item and bought it immediately due to affordable prices, quality design, and stainless steel construction. I’ve had this tea kettle for about a month and can’t find one negative aspect. It looks good sitting next to the coffee maker on the countertop, it heats up to set temperature flawlessly and it won’t rust since it’s stainless steel. I haven’t had any spewing water but I never fill past the “max” line. It does take a while to bring water to temperature but I simply leave the room and listen for alarm. My daughter and I use this kettle several times a day as we are avid tea drinkers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND based on experience so far.

Trying to fool you into thinking it works.
My Bonvita was gradually failing after 7 yeas of constant use. It has never had any competition until this. The kettle is pretty and well built. Claims temperature accuracy of +/- 1 deg F.The first thing that is odd is that most of the presets are for 212F. This applies to boil, black tea and coffee. The answered questions seemed to indicate that you could customize the presets, but I could not find any hidden features and there is nothing indicating this is possible in the limited manual. The thing that kills it, is the 'Current Temperature' display. This should show the temperature of the water. It only does this a fraction of the time. Most of the time, it is not correct and it is done deliberately to hide poor performance. The problem is that there is a coil and a base that get very hot and take a while to cool and reheat., so it overshoots badly. When it is heating, the temperature reading rises smoothly until it gets close then instantly jumps to the set point. Then the water continues to hiss for quite a while but the 'reading does not change. They seem to be trying to guess how long it takes to heat the rest of the way and cool the heating element, but they don't do a very good job, and don't want you to see it, so they fake the reading. I actually think there are ways to estimate when to shut off by looking at the heating rate, but rather than solve the engineering problem, they chose deception.BTW You can check the real temperature. It will show it if you lift and replace the kettle, and if you do a sampling you will find that it can be much hotter and sometimes cooler than shown. IT IS NOWHERE NEAR THE CLAIMED +/-1 deg F.Back to the other issue. 212 degree should not be the setting for everything. IMO this is too hot for the default for all of them except maybe boil, and I would really like 208 for black tea, 205 for coffee. It would be easy to make these adjustable but it was not done. Also, if you live at altitude you cannot reach this temperature. We lived at 2000ft for many years, and water boiled away at 210F or so on the Bonavita.Anyway, I think they have the hardware for an excellent kettle, but the implementation is flawed, and it bugs me that they decide to fake it instead of fix it. Bonavita does have a solution to the overshoot problem, shows the actual temperature, and is cheaper. I think I am going back to them.Anyway points for build quality and better than a simple boiling pot. Not a choice if you actually care about the temperature, and want it ready during the day.
