If your stuck in a rut this book will help.
This is a great book if your stuck in rut playing the same licks and phrases you already know.Frank walks you through methodically and explains the theory behind soloing that will open your playing to fresh hip sounds.I use a looper pedal and work on these ideas over recorded tracks.I have many books on guitar playing but this is my favorite.

Great player and teacher
A great player who is a great teacher. This is the tremendous book with a lot of information packed in. It will take time to master it all but it is essential to improvising in the jazz idiom. This book is not for beginners. It helps if you read music when are you working through the book.

Learn to imprvise from one of the best!
Never a let down, I have other lesson products from Frank Gambale and this is right up there at the top. Very concise well mapped out and easy to digest. It contains a CD, explaining each lesson in detail and has standard notation as well as tab for the non reading guitarist, as well as picking direction that he uses. The selling point for this was the area where he makes use of triads for improvisation, all in all it is a winner! If anyone is unfamiliar with this mans outrageous command of the guitar and his fluent runs with monster speed and proficiency, go you tube him and you too will want to get your hands on this material...

important and useful info on modes, and arpeggios plus how to use them.
Very useful when applied. I recommend getting some guitar tab paper, and writing out theses arpeggios in different positions in the neck, taking it a small step at a time, breaking them down into on octave at first.

Still great after 20 years
The perfect basic improv method for me. I bought 20 years ago and again this year to refresh music improv knowledge.Highly recommended.

Good but requires a grasp of music theory.
Awesome. But not for the beginner. A solid grasp on music theory is required or the book will be useless for you.

Experts only
This book is only for ppl who are really trying to master the guitar on a theoretic level too. I use it as a reference bible and read through it and make notes when I am on holiday. When you wanna mainly play: buy something else. 90% is what was hip in the 80’s: playing exotic scales and preferably at mind boggling speed. Buy this when you already have a firm grasp of music theory. Not when you are a beginning or advanced player

Bof !!!
