I find leaks easily with this when doing service calls on new and old refrigeration coils

Excellent product
You have to understand how the program adjusts sensitivity. If you Keep the tip pointed at the leaking area it will eventually indicate there is leak, so you have to keep moving the tip to avoid that.There are several good instruction videos on YouTube that discuss this product.

Performance quickly deteriorated to the point of total unreliability
This review is for the Fieldpiece SRL2. This leak detector worked very, very well when it worked. Got a little less than one full season out of it in a multifamily environment before it started alternating between false positives and completely missing refrigerant leaks big enough to drive a truck through. Completely unacceptable for a piece of equipment aimed at the professional, and doubly so for something carrying the "Fieldpiece" brand name. Couldn't I just sent it in for service? Sure, but I would never be able to use this thing with any degree of confidence again, so there was no point. Overall, just a horrendous waste of money . I've since gone back to the "brand I" heated diode-type detector which had previously served me well for years, and at less than half the price of the Fieldpiece unit.

Is a good thing i have this handy like most flare connection ...
Just installed ductless mini split unit. Is a good thing i have this handy like most flare connection any tech will face and it always have a high chances of small leak. This pick a small leak right up. For the typical house hold owner is a bit out of the price range but for a tech is a must have.

Very happy with this leak detector.
This leak detector is great. Hardly ever has false positives. Easy to use, nice case.

Quickly identifies leaks
No problems using this detector. It will trigger falsely if moved suddenly, abruptly.No false triggers with oils, liquids. Picked up leaks quickly for mr. Saved me lots of time.Also, the detector sensor will last for a very long time.

Don't buy this
I brought the leak detector 4.25 years ago and it has failed!! I am not happy with the 10 year claims and I think it is just a waste of money in all honesty and Yes it did work fine for 3.75 years, but for the price I expected way better and I will never buy another again!! No I haven't abused the detector at all as I look after my gear as this allows me to do my job.Disappointed totally!!
