These socks are super comfortable. Just the right amount of cushion, very breathable and the height is just right if you don't like any sock showing above your shoe. Unfortunately, after wearing them only once a hole started opening up right on the toe seam. For the price of these socks I would expect a better quality and longer lasting product. I had intended to buy more given how much I like the feel and fit, but if they're going to fall apart after one use there's no way they're worth the cost. Very disappointing.

Okay, I have a confession to make...nearly every pair of socks I own are Smartwool. A friend introduced me to them years ago and I have never looked back. They keep your feet happy and healthy, and last for ages. If you already own Smartwool socks, then you know and probably aren't reading this review. If you're considering buying a pair, give them a chance as you won't be disappointed! Personally speaking, the lightest weight that I enjoy wearing are "Light". The "Ultra-Light" are too thin and it feels like my foot slides around in the shoe too much.

I bought another pair of $17 running socks (Swiftwick), which I didn't like nearly as much as these. They both provide good cushion, but the other pair the supposed nearly seamless toe still feels very much like a seem. These Smartwool I don't feel the seem. The middle of the sock has special elastic that grips your foot well so the socks don't move around, which helps a lot because the extra padded heal and toe areas do slip a bit in the shoe. They are a little more expensive than the benefit I feel I get out of them, over my $4 socks, but I think I would buy them again for my high impact sports socks.

I bought these for my husband who spends most of the day on his feet, walking 17-23 thousand steps a day. His feet ached (and were smelly). He typically buys his socks in packs of 6 and values economy. He scoffed when I told him what I paid for one pair of the smart wool socks to “try out.” However, after a day of wearing the trial pair he admitted that the shocks really were worth the cost. He hadn’t noticed that the seam in his old socks were bothering him until he tried these socks. He said the cushioning was better than a cushioned insert. And...now his feet don’t smell. I ordered him 4 more pairs. Well worth the price for someone who works hard on their feet.

I liked the no show style of these smart wool socks. I have purchased the ankle socks before and liked them a lot. These are as good if not better than the ankle style. Actually I can't chose which I like best because they are both the best to me. They keep my feet at a nice ambient temperature when it is cold or warm weather. I have purchased these to use as stocking stuffers only to have them ask where I bought them and they were going to start wearing these as well

The comfort is delightful and my feet are so happy in these socks. Extra cushioning in the heel and they don’t slide off my feet. Yes, they are more than the other sport socks. But you get what you pay for. And these are hands down, the most comfortable pair of socks I have ever owned. So glad I bit the bullet and ordered 2 pairs! Don’t hesitate - treat yourself to these awesome socks. You will not be disappointed.

I bought these socks exclusively for our 3 week European vacation, and these socks were freaking amazing. I have flat feet, and my phone says I walked 144 miles in 22 days. In conjunction with my old and well-worn New Balance 1080's and Superfeet inserts, I had absolutely no new foot problems during the vacation... no soreness, no blisters, feet stayed dry...no problems at all. Definitely recommended and will buy again.

These are so much better than I thought they would be. For context, I spent 20 years in the military wearing combat boots and tried dozens of different brands of socks over the years.These are, by far, the most comfortable socks I've ever worn. The Smartwool is comfortable and provides good thermal protections (heating/cooling). They are also very odor resistant. If I could, I'd go back and spend 20 years wearing these socks alone.

These socks are made out of voodoo magic. Only rational explanation to how they maintain a stable temp around my foot. It's the goldilocks of socks. Not too cold, not too hot, juuuustt right. I do not understand the witchcraft behind it, but even in the hot weather, my feet ate not cool per se, and theyre not boiling... its a strange one, its juuustt right. And after a very long physical day at work, my feet are not sweaty and thus not stinky winky... I cant begin to explain what a miracle these socks are.

Merino wool socks is the best for your feet!Keeps you cool and dry when hot and warm and toasty when cold! They cost 3 times more than average good socks from inferior materials that is the only negative.

I lost these after a couple of months and really wasn't that fussed. They ran a bit small, the merino didn't seem to perform better than other socks I have owned. I won't buy again.
