I love Pacari, and this cocoa is fabulous. I don’t know how they make pure cocoa taste so good, but even their unsweetened bars are lovely. This powder is strong and slightly sweet with none of the acrid sensation many cocoa powders have (which makes me want to add sugar and milk). I drink it alone almost like a tea. And of course it is good for baking.

I lived in Ecuador for a bit and their chocolate is insanely good and the best I’ve had. Pacari is a well known brand there and they make an excellent product. This cocoa will elevate your baking game. There are other brands in Ecuador that are amazing but this one is actually available and worth every penny. So buy it.

Ecuadorian cacao has a very unique, distinctive flavor compared to all other cacao origins in the world.Much like an olive oil's quality can be partly determined by the sensory experience of bitterness and peppery characteristics (indicating high levels of phenolics), this cacao powder is both "robust" (ie, very bitter, which would indicate high levels of polyphenols), but also with the classic Ecuadorian cacao flavor to balance it out.If you consume cacao for it's health benefits, this would seem to be a good one for polyphenols. If you prefer to bake pastries, the bitterness will be masked by the addition of flour and sugar, leaving the classic Ecuadorian chocolate flavor.

delish! roasted, ground up, soaked in everclear for a few months. now i can use chocolate extract for marshmallows without them deflating from the oils in cocoa powder.

The Pacari cacao Powder is superior to the "cheaper" cacao powders and the raw chocolate that I make, tastes much better using this brand. If I could only get the Pacari cacao butter, that would be making my chocolate even more superior. When will it be available again on Amazon?

I don't know where all these wonderfully ratings are coming from but this stuff was just gross. Open the bag and took a whiff and smelled just like dried mushrooms and dirt. And after grinding and using it in a coffee press, it still smelled disgusting and taste exactly the way it smells, like dried mushrooms and mold. Yuck, the worse thing I ever bought on Amazon in years.

Tastes good but overpriced for the quality.
