It angers me seeing comments claiming this is cruel to the tortoises, especially when it seems they don't even own one. This gives my tortoise so much more freedom as we can put the hardness on him and let him wonder around the garden. It's much safer for him as he can't escape and potentially end up on a road and he has more time outside and in the sun as no one has the constantly watch him. The vibrant yellow makes it so easy to spot him against the grass or whatever path he is on. The harness doesn't bother or distress him one bit, although I can understand why it may bother some tortoise's like rescue ones etc. but its just about knowing your pet. If he displayed any signs of not liking it (he would go in the shell firstly) but I would make sure it was off as soon as possible

I used this on my 4 year old horsefield tortoise.Decided I wanted to let him have some freedom in the garden with have the security of a harness, so I wouldn't lose track of him, and thought this would be a great idea. It helps that it's in bright yellow too so the harness itself doesn't blend in with the grass.Worked just as intended, strong material for security and a decent length with plenty of space for him to grow into it without having to purchase a newer, larger size for him.Only niggle I had was it was quite troublesome trying to get him into, and tightening it ensure a good fit. It should be noted that this was mainly due to the fact I was trying to fit this to my tortoise who had never been in a harness. Maybe once he's used to it it will become a lot easier. So whether the difficulty was down to the product, or the stubborness of my tortoise, i'll find out in due course.Other than your pet having to get used to the feeling and process of the harness, I would say it's pretty fauntless

Used this today for the first time and it worked a treat! I did lengthen it with some string to give more freedom. I do however think as my tortoise becomes more active over the coming week, she’ll probably escape it- just because that’s what tortoises do!! Plus I can see it becoming more difficult to get on her when she’s more active. Btw she’s only been out of hibernation for a week so not up to full speed yet.

Bought for my marginated tortoise for when he’s in the garden. Great idea! Stops him getting lost among the bushes, always know where he is by following the lead and he can’t go too far. He seems very happy when he’s using it, causes him no distress.

Nice little product cheap enough but in our experience does not really work our Tortoise Easily escapes from the harnessOriginally bought to put a GPS tile on so we could keep an eye on our escape artist

This has been useful. I put it on my tortoise when I'm gardening and let him roam around on his own. It means he doesn't get lost in the undergrowth if I'm distracted. Not great a quality fit though so needed some sewing adjustments to make it work.

It’s difficult to get on as it has to be very tight or your tortoise will slip out of it. I have a very big garden and can easily loose my tortoise so the harness lead make it easy for me to find her. Expensive for what it is.
