The Expanse: Season Four [Blu-ray]

Epic
Fantastic Casting. Great acting. They knocked this one out of the park. It's a good syfy with the proper balance and wokeism not being shoved down our throats. It's there but it's not the main theme. The Expanse has a deep detailed story. It's good syfy.

The Expanse season 4 tells a different kind of story
If you've already seen the first three seasons of The Expanse, you don't need me to tell you how phenomenal this series is. If you haven't seen this show, though, you should really start with season one and watch this series from the beginning!Either way, in some ways season 4 is a break from what we've seen so far. Much of the action takes place planetside, away from the Rocinante, and that alone gives season 4 a different 'feel' from the rest of the series. When I watched this season the first time, I thought that it was paced a bit slowly, although upon re-watching this series after finishing season 5 I'm astounded by how well season 4 sets up everything which follows. I wouldn't change a thing!I don't want to get into spoilers, so all I'll say about plot here is that each of the main series cast has their own personal story arc and/or faces their own unique struggle during season 4, and that each of these actors does the sort of job we've come to expect from them. Some great new characters were also introduced this season. Burn Gorman was excellent as Adolphus Murtry, chief security officer of the colony ship Edward Israel, and Keon Alexander turns in a wonderfully understated performance as Marco Inaros, an extremist from the political fringe of the O.P.A. Fan favorite David Strathairn also returns from season 3 in the role of Klaes Ashford, continuing to steal every scene he appears in.The bonus content on these discs is worth watching if you're a fan of the series, with after show content for all ten episodes and 4 short 'making of' type videos.Season 4 of The Expanse tells a different kind of story than we've seen in previous seasons, and that's a good thing. While I initially thought that season 4 was a little slow, with a lot of filler material, season 5 builds steadily upon the foundation set here and every element of this story becomes important later on. The Expanse is easily the best science fiction show on TV today, and a fairly good case could be made for this series being the best science fiction show ever, so if you're a fan of the genre I'd recommend checking this show out.

Best SyFy ever!
Great adaptation of the books, read the books too. Casting was great for this show, not often when it is all done just right

BEST SCI-FI EVER AND UTTERLY ADDICTIVE
We never watch movies or a series over and over but The Expanse is the exception. Have watched the entire series at least 8 times. Get past episodes 1 and maybe 2 and you will be on an amazing ride. The lighting, the writing, the acting, the music!!, the world-building, the detail, the emotional range, the humor...unforgettable characters, so many favorite, well-developed characters. Every time you watch you find new detail, another layer. Absolutely LOVE The Expanse. They should have continued the series. Now reading the books. Highest recommendation possible.

Book 4 Cibola Burn is serialized in this season.
I enjoyed this video adaption better than the book. Our heroes are sent to the planet Ilus (a planet rich in lithium) by Avasarla to mediate a dispute between the belters there mining the planet and a Corporate Mining Company over the mineral rights, and to explore the remains of the protomolecule structures there and how and who destroyed them. A secondary story arc follows Bobbie Draper coping on Mars after her dishonorable discharge from the MMC (no reward for helping to save Mars' destruction).

Well made and realistic sci-fi show
Been waiting for the release of season 4 on blu-ray. Love this show. It’s probably one of the more realistic sci-fi shows with the ship technology and the travel durations between worlds. I like the character development as well with the politics and betrayals. This season takes place on a distant planet with belters who settle it in a small colony. Then the Earth military or Mars, not sure, arrive with supplies and tension builds and violence. Meanwhile, there’s ancient technology all over the planet that looks like pyramids. When it’s accidentally activated it begins to cause havoc with the ecosystem creating hurricanes and erupting volcanoes. Miller is back as a ghost to help out, played by Thomas Jane. Very easy to like the characters.

Four Seasons of Brilliance and Stellar Effects!
Yet another solid season in this brilliantly made series! It’s so disappointing Amazon doesn’t want people to watch it or to make any money off it, having stopped releasing it on Blu-ray and leaving viewers hanging got the last two seasons. Sorry, Amazon, but I’m not subscribing to Prime to watch. I don’t stream. If you won’t provide me with a product I want to spend money on, I’ll spend it on something else and just pirate your show.
