Ok for the money
The finish on these is not the best but it’s adequate enough to use. I smoothed them up and put a very sharp point on them with my strop. Took me about 20 minutes and now they punch pretty good. If you don’t mind doing a little finish work on them they’re a decent buy.

Can be used to make nice stich lines
The size is accurate, the shape is good. Out of the box, they need some work. The finish on them is unfinished. They need to polished and stropped with jeweler's rouge or something similar. The handles have burs and sharp edges that need to be removed. The points have tool marks that need to be polished out to reduce sticking in the leather.I don't really trust the steel they are made of. Depending on the weight of the leather you are working, I don't recommend "rocking" the chisels to get them out of the leather. Use a piece of wood, or whatever, to hold the leather down and lift the chisel out of the leather. For 6 ounce or less leather weight, rocking might be fine. I haven't broken a tip yet, but I don't rock my chisels. I think these chisels are brittle. I only work with veg tan leather so I can't say how they work in the chrome tans.Put a little work into them and for DIY leather working for fun they are acceptable if you do things right. For the price, they're not bad if you clean them up a bit. If you don't know how to do that, get some quality finished chisels instead. As for ease of use, just like all stitch line chisels, do your best to keep them vertical, use a good non-metal mallet or maul, and a poly cutting board (or whatever you prefer).

I purchased this item and the tines were broken off of one of them upon arrival.

Great for lacing leather
I like making multiple holes at a time. Also for corners or small areas single holes.
