Phottix HS Speed Mount II (PH87221)

I use these mounts for working with Bowens-S mount products. One issue though is when using with Phottix Bowens-S products (e.g. 7" reflector). This unit is built well, but the tabs on other products have poor tolerances. I almost ruined one of these units. Ultimately had to file down the tabs on the 7" reflector.Thus, if you find things really tight, don't fight it and check to see the quality of the three tabs on what you're trying to mount.Works very well with other Bowens-S equipment. I use it also with a Westcott 24" Beauty Dish.

This is by far the heaviest duty speedlight bracket for modifiers I've had, and I've tried all the other ones. I'm glad someone finally made one that can stand up to serious lighting gear.But, I do take issue that this requires you to by the other bracket pictured separately in order to actually attach this bracket to most light stands. (As is it will only attach to stands that all you to remove the top lug). But even on light stands this will mount straight too, you still can't tilt or angle this bracket at all. Without the not-included bracket you're stuck at 90 degrees.Now, I guess, OK, most photographers own a couple of those brackets already. And you could argue that it passes savings onto us...but honestly I'd rather just pay an extra 20 bucks and have one item that works on its own without having to put a bunch of stuff together...But again its heavy duty. You could hammer nails with this thing.

I am now quite the fan on Phottix products for strobist protography. I now have two of these speed mounts and put Bowens adaptors on my beauty dish and snoot. Looking to adapt my soft box to Bowens and buy another one of these. For little more than what you pay for a cheap plastic speed mount the added benefit of quick release and horizontal mounting of the flash gun give better control over where the light is set into the light modifier and do significantly better to accommodate a hot shoe radio.

Der Adapter macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck, den ich bei dem Preis allerdings auch erwartet habe. Die Befestigungswinkel sind aus massiven Alluminum gefräst und verschraubt. In den Adapterring rasten die Bowensanschlüsse fest ein, nichts wackelt oder klappert. Sie lassen sich auch sehr einfach durch den Verriegelungsbolzen mit Federmechanismus wieder lösen.Der Systemblitz lässt sich auch liegend mit einem beiliegenden Adater - auf dem der Blitz mit Klettband befestigt wird - verwenden. Das ist besonders hilfreich um z. B. ein Strip-Light durch Quereinbau gleichmäßiger auszuleuchten, aber auch, um das Display des Blitzes einfacher von Seite ablesen zu können.Ich verwende den Speed Mount Adapter mit einem Phottix Varos II BG Schirmneiger auf Lampenstativen und bin damit sehr zufrieden.Klare Kaufempfehlung.

A fabulous piece of kit and exquisitely made (Everything is made from metal) and comes in a smart box/packaging from Phottix. Includes a circular carry bag and to my surprise, the "Phottix Varos H-Mount Plate and Strap".

Appena l'ho scartato sono rimasto piacevolmente colpito dalla qualità di questo prodotto. Le viti sono robuste ed addirittura lubrificate. Danno un senso di precisione e robustezza davvero notevole. Acquistato insieme ad un Phottix Varos II ed uno Speedring Bowens, ho realizzato un sistema di illuminazione davvero solido.Consigliatissimo.

Cumple perfectamente su cometido. Se ve fuerte y robusto para aguantar accesorios de Bowens. Se acoplan fácilmente. Muy fácil de montar.
