I ordered this for my husband to use when cutting down our perennial plants/bushes in the fall. He grew up using machetes for that kind of gardening, and insisted on replacing the one we had after it was mistakenly thrown out. He hates shopping, even online, so the task fell to me. At first, he was not too pleased with the length of this blade, and thought it wouldn’t be good for much, but I told him it had great reviews and asked him to give it a try. Well, he ended up eating those words! The blade length may be short (it’s about 12”), but boy is it sharp! It got the job done, even on our thick shrubs, and he was very happy with the ease he had in cutting everything down. He said it felt really sturdy in hand, and has a nice weight to it. He later admitted that he was pretty happy with it, so it’s a keeper.

If you are looking for the right "big knife" to tackle those chop down big weed chores, this is the tool for you.Very sharp, with a blade side and a sawing side this has become one of my best landscaping tools. Very well made of carbon steel and includes a storage sheath to keep it safely put away.

I bought this to cut back the river reeds that are growing around my yard and blocking sun to the plant I am growing. I found it easy to use, sharp and not too heavy. I liked the length because I see what I am cutting and don't have to worry about cutting my plants behind the reeds.

This machete is lightweight, easy to use, easy to carry, and extremely effective at removing woody vines. It isn't designed to be a heavy-duty tool, and the blade is definitely showing some wear after a week of intense use; but even after hitting several rocks, the blade is still sharp enough to skin the ivy off of this tree with very little effort. When it eventually wears out, I'll gladly purchase another one of these machetes.

Used it last Saturday. This looks like a great buy, but it's not. My thin stalks of bamboo the size of my pinky laughed at this/me. I tried hacking some 3' tall wild grass and it also laughed at it/me. Will cut philodendron and elephant plants with ease, but I needed to cut tall grass and my pinky sized bamboo. I tried both sides. I will be returning this item.
