When I first tried the machine it would not go past film splices, (cement splices), where films were joined or edited. I saw a video that advised users to clean films before putting them through the machine. Although expensive, the film cleaning fluid cleans and lubricates the film. Since using the cleaning fluid the machine has worked perfectly.

Buy from Amazon.com, nearly £200 cheaper
These are great little machines but I buy mine from the American Amazon site (I'm in the UK) as even with import duty, they are nearly £200 cheaper than this seller and arrive within 4 days!!

No 7” or 9” uptake reel
Product states it takes up to 9” reels yet only provides a “5 uptake reel so unless you have any empty 7” or 9” reels you will have film spaghetti on your table to manually rewind after.I was only able to copy a couple of smaller reels & as most of my films were on 9” i sent the product back as it does not provide the necessary larger empty reels. All it needed was one empty 9” instead of the 5” it provided. Makes no sense unless the uptake motor would struggle winding on the larger reel which would then not make it fit for purpose !!Additionally there is a counter that increases each time you start a copy. This is ok but every film i started resulted in having to stop & restart it because the framing slightly moved or the film stuck & this therefore increases the film count. ( There is a 200 max until your warranty runs out )It also came with a uk plug adapter which was obviously put in separately by the seller due to the product being imported from the states with a US 2pin plug. The product is £200 cheaper by purchasing direct from the states on amazon.com so it felt like a bit of a rip off to pay so much more because it was ordered on the uk site.In my opinion, the product is otherwise ok but for £575 i would expect to have an appropriate sized reel provided, at least a 1000 film count to cover stop/starts & re-adjustments & a far more reasonable price in line with the US cost especially as the units are one & the same.
