Not what is pictured
Ordered this, got here a little late due to winter storm. Its not what is pictured, i ordered it because i like the older subs better than the new ones and it would've matched the P1 i already have. Its Fosgate though, i cant complain

Very affordable, if you are patient.
I got one of these for my wife's car here on Amazon for about $33. It is running off of a 200 watt rms Kicker amp in a sealed box (1.10 cubic feet) and provides great low end sound in the trunk of her car. I decided to add a second sub to my boat so I figured why not get one of these since it will be in a compartment where it will not get wet, so I looked at Amazon and the sub was somewhere around $65 when I had just paid $33 a month prior. So I kept checking around and noticed that the price fluctuated often on Amazon. Then one day I logged on and it was marked around $26, so I ordered it and now I have that second sub in my boat in a sealed box (1.02 cubic feet). It is running off of a Punch 300 getting about 200 watt rms. They both sound great and I have not had any complaints. They won't blow your doors off like the P3 subs, but they sound great in the 150 to 200 RMS watt range in a recommended sealed enclosure. Definitely 5 stars for around $30, considering you get a much higher quality product and sound than what you pay for.

Punch P1 4 ohm 150rms
Pushed it with 150 watt RMS at 4 ohms. Sounded Amazing for first half hour before it blew. I wrote I five star review before cause of how great it sounded but this is unacceptable.

Well its a start
These subs are alright, for the money. They hit some bass notes perfect, but sometimes they just cant hit certain ones enough for me. They distort a little bit on certain things, and on some they sound great. I would reccomend spending the extra cash and getting either Rockford Fosgate P3's, or Alpine Type R subs, especially if you are buying a box, spending money on a new stereo, etc, make it all worth it, its the subs that you are going for, dont go cheap on them. In like 2 months I will buy better ones to be perfectly honest. These are just a great starter system, but dont hit all kinds of bass.

powerful and efficient
Damn good purchase on these subs. I have tried a few lower end subs and gradually figured out what i wanted and these are it. (Sure, I would like to go a bit louder, like JBL's or the Rockford Fosgate Punch 2 or 3, who wouldn't) They are very efficient which was high on my list, to get the most out of my system without worries of overusing my battery and alternator and without the need of a capacitor. They thump and hit the lows nicely, though seem to miss the very low frequencies sometimes that my old MTX's would nail.

Great Sub
This is not the most powerful sub ever made, but if you are looking for something moderate to boost your sound system with some bass, then this is perfect. I paired this sub with a Kenwood 2-channel 350 Watt amp, and I have it bridged to just this one Punch. It sounds exactly how I wanted it to sound. I'm not into rattling my car apart anymore like I was in high school, so this setup was perfect for me. It has a nice clean sound, and just enough thump.

Pay attention to the enclosure
To the person who said this sub is junk should be putting most of the blame on the box. I know Rockford recommends a tiny box for their sealed enclosures, which is ONLY good if you care about pure SPL. A sealed box around 1.8-2.5 cu.ft. would be much more suitable for producing less SPL but a much smoother frequency response. This means that you can hit those very low notes much better. Add 3/4 lb/cu.ft. of polyfill (3lbs for $10 at wally world) and you will get an even better response from your new Rockford sub!A ported enclosure is also a very viable option for a 12" sub. Tuning the box lower than Rockford's spec will, again, lower the SPL, but it will increase the driver's ability to hit lower notes.Overall, I feel Rockford P1's are a good value with solid performance, especially when had for under fifty dinero.

Very reliable shop with genuine products. Will definitely buy again!
From the Manufacturer Manufacturer's Review (December 30, 2008) You'll certainly get a lot of bass for your buck with the P1 12\" subwoofers. These subwoofers were made for small sealed and vented enclosures, which make them suitable for a wide range of installations. The P1S412 is a 12\" 4-Ohm SVC subwoofer with 150 Watts RMS (300 Watts max) power handling, a fine addition to any system.
High-temp voice coil with spun-laced Nomex re-inforcement collar
Linear spider with embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads
Parabolic injection molded ABS/Acrylic dustcap
Protective PVC textured magnet cover
Reversable ABS trim ring
Thermoformed polypropylene cone
Aluminum Voice Coil Former Two things generally happen when voice coils heat-up.
They can generate heat close to the melt-down temp of their adhesive bonds which leads to eventual failure.
Voice coil DC resistance increases and reduces SPL output.
Solution... Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use aluminum formers or voice coils for their excellent heat dissipation and SPL capabilities unlike many other plastic substitutes.
CEA-2031 Compliant Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous damand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
Reversible Mounting Rockford Fosgate subwoofers can be mounted in either direction. A removable trim ring can be installed on the back or front side of the subwoofer frame. This gives the subwoofer a finished look regardless of mounting configuration.
Stitched Tinsel Leads Multipoint \"periodic\" stitched lead wire technique reduces the mass of each tinsel lead and spreads stress and strain over a greater area, significantly improving the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
These stitched tinsel leads withstand extreme duty cycles, fatigue and high current that is critical to robust design.
