Works Great with Windows 7 64-bit
I completely deleted my old Bluetooth dongle's software and installed this new Azio unit using the included installation disk. I have paired the Azio and used it with headphones, speakers, and mouse; the results have been outstanding. The Toshiba stack is superior to what I had before. The hardware is solid. I haven't challenged the Class 1 range since all of my devices are Class 2 but I can say that the quality of the audio and the functioning of the mouse are perfect where they weren't before. The sensation of using this unit is sublime. I cannot recommend it more highly.JimUpdate September 15, 2012I got a new Windows 7 netbook to complement my laptop. I installed the Azio software and switched the dongle back and forth without a hitch. I finally went ahead and bought a second one.I obviously like these things!JimUpdate January 23, 2013I bought an Azio Bluetooth keyboard and it, too, works flawlessly with this dongle.JimUpdate March 29, 2013I bought a Toshiba Bluetooth mouse and it, too, works flawlessly with this dongle.JimUpdate December 18, 2013The older of my two adapters failed after 18 months. I called Azio and had a replacement in hand in a few days. Excellent product support.JimUpdate July 6, 2015The newer of my two adapters failed after 34 months. I called Azio and will have a replacement in hand in a few days. Again, excellent product support.JimUpdate June 14, 2013No problems. Keep your imstallation disk handy. I had a few Windows updates and driver updates come through and I lost the functions of the Bluetooth adapter. I reinstalled using the disk and everything was fixed. I think Windows confuses itself sometimes.Jim

Windows 8.1 Pro compatible.
Windows 8.1 Pro, PowerSpec P.C. with 8 gb RAM and 120gb SSD boot drive, attempting to connect to a TDK wireless speaker.http://www.amazon.com/TDK-Life-Record-Wireless-Weatherproof/dp/B008VMT2HQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422045104&sr=8-1&keywords=tdk+speaker+bluetooth&pebp=1422045106586&peasin=B008VMT2HQPlug 'n play? No. Windows did not recognize that the device had been plugged in.(BTW - the packaging shows USB 2.0 compatibility so there may not be any advantage in using a USB 3.0 port if a 2.0 port is available.Put the supplied mini-CD in the tray, installed the Toshiba stacks and the software ran but failed to connect to the device. (No surprise - the literature with the CD does not specify Windows 8.1. compatibility).Uninstalled the Toshiba software and downloaded the latest software drivers from the Azio website.Installed the new software and it took three attempts to connect but the TDK speakers were eventually recognized.Installation of software does require a computer restart.Started music player on the computer and carried the TDK speakers to the next floor and found no issues whatsoever - unless one places ones hand over the power button on the TDK unit. The radio receiver must be there because covering that area causes audio cutouts. Uncovered the speakers run flawlessly.Note that I attempted, very briefly, to install on a Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 server but abandoned the attempt due to time constraints. Server 2012 is not natively supportive of Bluetooth. I will update the review should I take the time to get it working.Currently controlling the desktop machine with a Dell Venu 8 Pro tablet (the desktop has more room for music file storage and I don't have to have the tablet powered up except for remote control. The desktop computer is powered up anyway, even when no one is using it. Thus the desktop music playlist can be accessed when I'm in a different room with the speakers.Regards,Jim

Great product! Wondering why it didn't get the full ...
This has an incredible range on it, I was using 2 other generic USB Bluetooth adapters to play Farcry 4 on my PC with a PS4 controller, but if i put my knee in from of the controller, turned slightly or broke line of sight the signal would drop. With this adapter I stood across the room behind a couch and still played perfectly, the DS4windows app has a latency OSD and I was getting 1.6ms everywhere and while i was across the room behind an object with metal in it (couch) the highest it went was 4.6ms.Great product!Wondering why it didn't get the full 5 stars?Well... the driver package came with the Toshiba Bluetooth stack for windows, It installed perfectly, ran easily and I loved the software!! but NONE of my apps could read the devices connected so it made the connection useless, then I tried to remove the stack and It took me an hour of googling to finally get it fully removed and using the default windows stack again, which allowed the controllers to work properly again, so -1 star for the PITA removal process if you cant use the Toshiba stack.

Not satisfied
I use Windows 7 and am having lots of intermittent issues. Pairing is indicated to be complete but no sound is output. Pull out adapter plug it back in and sometimes that solves the problem...but not always. Same issues with using the built in mike. Should not be that difficult to setup and work properly.
