Q: Does anybody know the height distances, low and high, this can reach? I'd like to get this to record my acoustic in my very tiny room and need to know

The height adjustment, measured from the top of the boom clamp to the base support surface, is 12" to 16.75". With tube and boom fully extended, the end of boom is 25.5" from base support surface.

Q: Does this hold a shock mount?

Yes. It holds any of the shock mounts I use: Blue Radius, ADK, AKG Neumann and several others and have no issues.

Q: Would this work to put a mic for singing on top of my console piano?

It should work well for that. The base is heavy enough that you can extend the boom to its full length, and it remains pretty stable. The bottom of the base is also metal, however, so you might want to set it on a piece of felt, or Plasti Dip the bottom to prevent scratching the finish on your piano.

Q: How far does it extend? I want to use it with a samson go mic (mini) usb.

From the base to the top including a ´mic socket´ it is 69,5cm or 27,36 inches.
