Sharks: Face-to Face with the Ocean's Endangered Predator Hardcover – March 19, 2016

This book is filled with hundreds of stunning shark images from around the world, and of every kind of species. Some of the shots you feel like you're right there with the animal. Can't imagine what it was like for Mr Muller to capture these photos in person. Great for a coffee table, office or gift.

This book is amazing. Micheal Muller's style of photography worked well in capturing sharks as predators and prey. You can see and feel the passion in the pictures and in the essays in the book. I don't know what I was expecting when I opened the book but I was blown away by the detail in the pictures. The essays in the book weren't boring at all. They talked about the threats to sharks and how killing them hurts the ocean's ecosystem and how it affects us as well. I liked that in this book he wasn't trying to be preachy just stating easy to understand facts and what we can do right now to save the Sharks. Check out my video review at: [...]

I’m a teacher, and love the sea life. But my love and admiration for the Great White is tremendous. My class will enjoy looking through this book! Regular wear and tear on the outside, which was fine, but taken care of on the inside.

This book is beautiful! I preordered and it was way bigger than I expected. The shots are incredible, utterly breathtaking. The only thing that im not a fan some of the pictures are cut off in the binding. Other than that, i will keep this book forever.

Just got my copy today and it was the smaller version of this title. (This smaller version of 'Sharks' is sold on Barnes & Noble - normally $25, but currently on sale for $10). I didn't receive the larger, normally $70 version. Reached out to Amazon customer support and they have assured me that they can send a replacement of the correct version. Fingers crossed! If you ordered this thinking you were getting the large version, take some measurements. If the book you received is closer to 9.8(w) x 12.7(h) x 1.2(d) -- you got the wrong version, and probably a bad deal. Had to rate this in order to post this review to give others the heads up -- so 4 star rating for now until the replacement comes and I can further review.

The book came in excellent shape and was very interesting to read. Makes a great coffee table book- just in time for shark week.

It’s Michael Muller!! One of the greatest photographers around. What’s not to love??? Awesome pictures of the ocean’s Apex predators.

For a book that is this expensive, the matte quality of the printed pages is disconcerting even though the pictures are remarkable. There is almost no explanation of what you are seeing on each page. There was obviously a design decision made to have lots of blank pages throughout the book, but it doesn't work. There are a lot fewer pictures, therefore, than the size of the book suggests. In addition, the writing in the book that does exist is printed in black typeface on a dark blue background with the result being that the book is almost unreadable.
