mCoveriPearl Hard Shell Case for 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop Computer (NOT compatible with Surface Book and Tablet) (Black)

I am assuming this is for Alcantara version and not for metal version surface laptop. No description was given in product description or specification. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit for me.

Huge design flaw! I can't even use the docking system specifically designed for the Microsoft Surface laptop without taking the bottom portion of the case off. There is about an 1/8 in. overlap that prevents me from plugging in properly.

I have been hoping someone had a shell cover for the new Microsoft Surface Laptop. Found this one on Amazon.... it is exactly what I was looking for. I have been using a rather bulky leather folio to protect the laptop, but much preferred the hard shell type like I had with my MacBook Pro (that my son walked off with for his first year in college).I purchased the darker blue version. I really like the frosted semi-clear texture and look. It compliments the form of the Surface Laptop perfectly. The fit and finish are as good as the $55 Moshi i-Glaze that is on my son's MacBook Pro... although its not as thin. Not that that is a bad thing. I had to return the Moshi due to cracks in the back and corners of the bottom piece. None-the-less, the iPearl mCover looks and functions as advertised. I also appreciate the extending feet at the back that lifts the Surface Laptop to a comfortable angle for typing.The bottom piece fits perfectly and securing clips don't do any anything to lift or damage the Alcantara fabric on the deck of the keyboard. This was one are I was a bit concerned about... but absolutely no issues. The top piece has a small lip that runs along about 75% of the shell that makes it easy to open the top of the laptop... you don't even notice it. All-in-all, this is well worth the price (maybe even under priced) and I would highly recommend this for anyone with the new Microsoft Surface Laptop that doesn't want to damage that beautiful aluminum on the top or bottom.FOLLOW-UP..... After using the iPearl mCover for my Surface Laptop for a number of weeks I would continue to give it 5 stars. This is an excellent product and works exactly as I had expected. I especially like the blue frosted finish. Without hesitation I would recommend this product.

I was initially hesitant to purchase this cover for my Microsoft Surface Laptop due to reports it damaged the alcantara fabric and the port for charging could not be used by plugging in front to back. However, because there are not a lot of covers to choose from, I took a gamble and ordered it. I’m not sure if the company read these reviews and changed things, but I have not had any issues with the case. The case snapped on easily and did not damage the fabric in the slightest and I am able to plug in to charge whichever way is convenient. I didn’t have to change a thing with the case or cut any extra around the charging dock. It all fit together beautifully. I chose the clear color which is slightly frosted but looks great and gives it just a little bit of grip. I don’t feel like it added much at all to the weight or thickness of the laptop. I’m very happy with my purchase and wouldn’t hesitate to order it again.

Honestly, I never really write reviews but after spending hours looking for and researching the very few products for the Microsoft surface laptop, I felt I should help someone else save some time. This case is facanstic, after reading reviews I was a bit skeptical but the product is as described and looks great! It was easy to put on. TIP:: In terms of putting on the bottom piece I would put it on back to front, and place the laptop into the case rather than pushing the case onto the laptop. This way you don’t end up pushing in and harming any of the material on the laptop. Overall, be gentle and take your time when putting it on and you should have no issues. Enjoy!

The surface laptop cover gets marks all the time. They buff out fairly easily, but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry, so I got this in orange, and I absolutely love the cheerful color. It seems well made & protects with no noticeable extra weight. And to me, it doesn't make the laptop look bigger/bulkier. It was easy to put on, though it was a little tricky to get one corner to go on OVER the alcantara fabric (rather than kind of smushing it).There are two slight problems. First (and ymmv on whether or not this is an issue), is that on the bottom, there are two non-skid plastic disks on the front. But where there are little pop-out "legs", there is a round space for the disks, but none are attached. This caused my laptop to slide very easily on smooth surfaces. When I asked the seller, I was told: "Our case is manufactured that way (with the spaces are left in the cover) to allow the tablet to fold further back into tablet mode. Rubber discs in that location would prevent that laptop from doing that - so those spaces were intentionally left there. " Hmmmm... The thing is, the Surface Laptop doesn't fold all the way back into a tablet mode. That's the surface book. I'm surprised the seller doesn't know this, as they made a pretty big deal about the distinction so that people don't accidentally buy the wrong cover. Luckily, I had some extra round adhesive bumpers that were the right size, though I had to use an extra glue as they wouldn't stay stuck on.Secondly, and more important, is that the cover DOES slightly interfere with charging. If you like the cable to turn to the back of the laptop, as I assume most people would, the cover will keep the magnets from getting a good, strong contact. It intermittently charges, but I tend to get a situation where the light on the charger is on, but the laptop isn't actually charging. I have to flip the contact so that the cable turns to the front of the laptop. While this isn't the end of the world, it's good to know before buying.Still, I really do like it, and with those caveats would recommend it to others.
