Skeptical but Convinced - family members also purchased after sampling week-old wine
Straight and to the point. We tend to over spend on wine which one should savior, regularly have several bottles open at the same time for enjoyment of the palate...unless that is, it’s been a really hard day and one is drained.. Have unfortunately had to slog my way through some very expensive sour grapes over the year’s contributed too similar contraptions that just did not hold suction. Glad to say the hunt is over! Check out my reviews...I'm not a paid blogger... I say buy with confidence!! Cheers!

Worked fine -- after I repaired it
Here's the deal -- the product wasn't assembled correctly. So, the first time I used it, the T-handle came off. This is my second Vacu Vin, and the first one lasted a decade or more. This one lasted 10 seconds. In any case, returning an item in this price range generally isn't worth the time or trouble, so I used epoxy to fasten the T-handle to the shaft. Other than that, the product works as advertised; it reduces the oxygen level in the wine bottle and allows you to nurse a bottle of wine for several days without much degradation in flavor.

Replacement wine pump? This is a good option!
Needed a replacement wine saver pump after my last one finally gave up. This particular style of wine saver pump is easier to remove from the wine stopper (at any time) compared to my previous pump. You simply lift up on this unit without there being any residual vacuum between the pump and the stopper. This unit also makes a clinking sound after you have sufficiently vacuumed your wine bottle. This happens after just a few pumps on a wine bottle with more wine and after several pumps (approx. six pumps) on wine bottles that have just a little bit of wine left. I was worried that as soon as the "clinking" started, the wine saver pump would no longer vacuum, however, I'm pleased to report that the wine saver pump will continue to vacuum until you stop pumping.

Well, it's cheaper than a gym membership!
It does not click, so I am afraid it is not working. If it is not necessary to get a click to know the air has been sucked out enough, then they should not mention it in the instructions. I tore the packaging so I cannot return it for one that clicks. I will keep trying to use it and hope it works. I pump it 20-40 times till the resistance is hard to pump, so the air must be getting sucked out, but I am a frail old lady so I am getting tired. Well, it may build up my arm muscles and is cheaper than a gym membership.

Simple but effective
This is perhaps the easiest and least expensive way to preserve an open bottle of wine. Having used these for close to twenty years, here are some pointers that may be helpful:- Correctly positioning the stopper in the bottle is essential to making this device work. I find that wetting the rim of the stopper with a little water and then firmly pressing it into place works best. Make sure the stopper is in straight, because even a small angle will allow the seal to leak. Some wine bottles have openings that are too large and will not seal well.- Do not believe that red wine at room temperature will stay tasty for "up to two" weeks unless the bottle is almost full. A half-full bottle of a heavy red might stay good for 5-7 days, if everything is done correctly.- I also use the device for open bottles of white wine stored in the refrigerator. This works extremely well. I have sometimes kept open bottles this way for three weeks, with little degradation in quality. Note that some whites will throw a crystalline sediment if kept in a cold fridge. Again, the stopper must be correctly inserted, with a tight seal.
