Best Organic CLP Bar None!!!
Having worked nearly a dozen years in the gun and hunting industry, I’ve been smothered with a lot of products samples, like gun cleaners. So, when my buddy Mat Hughey told me about Sage and Braker, a completely unknown animal, I told him, “I have enough CLP to last me three lifetimes, bro!” But, Mat was pretty persistent about this stuff and I trust his opinion – I caved. So, I went on to Amazon and pulled the trigger. I just got it in the mail tonight and pulled my Remington 700 Limited Edition out of the cave and sprayed on some of Fred Bohm’s CLP. I was so happy with the results, I put some in my beard…the stuff smells like sunshine in can and it cleans like no bodies business. I got so carried away with it that it made its way into my beard and I like the smell – it might me by new cologne on top of my new favorite gun cleaner. Here’s Fred’s story: “It took a lot of years to develop. I came across a couple guys. They’re in one of the top-three mobile oil brands…they talked circles around me. But, they wanted something bio-based. So, there’s where we wanted to focus and do the right thing, and make it bio-degradable – it’s actually 100% bio-degradable.” As any good clean, lube, protect guru knows – the gun industry will eat it up, if it’s any good. “I used it on my Benelli the other day and was spotless before I put it on. Then I put some CLP on it. It looked like it sucks the carbon out of the pores.” Fred’s B-to-C company has only been going a year and a half now. “Eventually, it’s going to hit the (fan)! It’s a tough industry to break into. I respect the competitors. This CLP makes sense, so I jumped into it. It turned into a craft product. (Ownership:) It’s 100% me! I came from a family of engineers – lathe mills and barrel boring, etc.” Fred’s plan is to market his CLP, as well as his shotgun and rifle bore cleaning kits. The good news is Fred’s business is growing steadily. He quit his ad agency job and poured himself into Sage and Braker – named after his coveted bird dogs. “I do want it to grow, but not so quickly I can’t control it.” Congratulations Fred!!! Can’t wait to see what happens this year. Can’t wait to hunt and fish with you too, brother!!! CLEAN, LUBE and PROTECT by Sage & Braker. Still don’t know why is the hype.
I don’t know why is the hype on this really expensive CLP, so I bought it to try it out. I still don’t know why. But hey at least my gun smell like nightclub now.EDIT:After some research on safety of different product, I gained some data to back up why this product is great thus change it to 5 star.1. In MSDS, this product's heath risk is ranked at 0. And it does not have PEFE from CS. which a lot of other product does or not disclosing if it does. (I still haven't figure out if the newest version of breakfree clp has it after spending hours researching.) PTFE has risk to decompose at high temperature and release bad gas. And guess what? That will for sure to happen especially if you choose to use that as bore solvent.2. Even the product is safe, normal oil based product need to be aerosol to be sprayed effectively. Like balistol. But the stuff they used to make it aerosol is actually not completely safe. So if you check MSDS for those aerosol normally they have elevated heath risk. This product sprays really well in a conventional spray bottle so there is no risk in that. All in all, i think this is the only product that I found that gave me a complete peace of mind when use it.

Worth every cent
First off, this CLP does smell as good as people say. Okay, onto the functionality of this item...I just went out shooting with my mentor, the old school guy that taught me how to clean my firearms with the "ol pole and cloth." When I was cleaning my shotgun for the 1st time, after the 6 cloth came out still with black buildup on it, I ask "how many times do you do this?" his response was "John, that is your gun. You decide when you are happy with how clean it is...as for me, I want my guns to last decades, so I go until the cloth comes out clean." That struck me hard. So when I started looking for a cleaning kit, I read a lot of reviews and found Sage & Braker Bore Cleaning kits. I was really happy with how they cleaned my gun so well and so much quicker. When I heard that Sage & Braker was making a CLP product I was really excited. Admittedly, the price is higher than other products on the market...but the quality is what makes the difference. Back to shooting with my mentor...I was just out with him and brought my Sage & Braker products. I told him how much I like this new way to clean guns and told him to give it a try. It took a little convincing to get him to put down the pole and try something new, but he did. We ended up spraying this CLP (using a sprayer to distribute cleaner!? GENIUS!!) and my bore snake on his old shotgun, ran it through 3 times and he was blown away...he grabbed his ol pole, put a cloth on the end and ran it through as a test. Guess what, It came out clean!! What used to take 20+ minutes and a lot of elbow grease with the old way of cleaning was done in a few minutes (a few beers) and his gun has not been cleaner in 10 years. I think he might be joining the Sage & Braker family pretty soon after using it himself.Anyway, as far as I am concerned, this is a quality product that is well worth the price. You get what you pay for.
