Works amazing!!
Bought this to clean up a bunch of old solex vw carbs I was rebuilding. It works great.I disassembled the carburetors and decrease them to get the big dirt and residue off before I dipped in order to prolong the life of the chem dip. I've now cleaned up 7 carbs and it's still working good. Takes a little longer now but works.

This is a great product! I used to buy spray cans of the carb cleaner stuff but I will never do that again. This tub of carb cleaner will probably last forever. This paint can sized bucket of cleaner comes with a parts dipper that has perferated holes in the bottom of it. This allows you to place your parts in the bucket and dip them down into the cleaner. When you're finished, you pull the bucket back up and about 95% of the cleaner drains through the bottom of the dipper.I've used this to clean grease and grime off of old moped parts, to make old screw shiney again, basically anything that you'd like to be free from oil and debris you can throw in here, let it sit for an hour or two and then pull out. You'll need to wipe your parts clean, of course, but that's as simple as getting a roll of paper towels or an old rag and wiping the stuff of. I used to go through two or three spray cans when cleaning a bunch of old parts. I've had this bucket of carb cleaner for almost a year and it's probably still 70% there.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who spends a lot of time cleaning old oily parts. It is so easy to use and goes sooooo much further than buying the spray cans.

Shockingly effective at cleaning carburetor parts and more!
In the past I'd used carburetor cleaner, a relatively soft plastic blade, and a very soft brass bristle brush to clean carburetor and other motor parts. I saw some very good reviews for chem-dip and decided to give it a try, and I could not have been more impressed with the results. It essentially dissolves or at least substantially softens build up and grim on carburetor and other engine parts to the point where when I'd pull a particular part, bolt, etc. out of the dip I could either just wipe off the residue with a rag or at most I'd use a tooth brush to easily scrub remaining grim or heavy residue off of the part.In most cases I'd leave a part to soak in the chem-dip for 30 to 60 minutes, but occasionally I'd leave a particularly dirty part to soak over night. Without fail, this product delivered on its advertised promise and has all but eliminated the tedious task of cautiously scrapping and scrubbing parts and the need to constantly deal w/ the much more noxious fumes of aerosol carburetor cleaner. Though, while the chem-dip does not have nearly as noxious fumes as other cleaners, I still recommend working in a ventilated space while scrubbing off the parts pulled from the dip for good measure. The only complaint I have regarding this product is the size of the can. While at 3/4 of a gallon it takes most small parts, I only wish it were bigger so I could fit even larger parts. I'll probably look to see if they offer a 3 or 5 gallon bucket with a similar strainer included in the future, as I'd love to soak elongated parts like intake manifolds and other bulkier parts.

Not kryptonite resistant!
The carb on my old motorcycle had sat for several years was seriously in need of a deep cleaning soak & rebuild. This looked like the perfect product to "dip' and clean up the whole thing. It worked, but not quite the miracle product I expected.I read all the reviews and many make it sound like some insanely strong, nuclear powered, kryptonite resistant super fluid that should be handled like nitro-glycerin as it would melt your leg off if you spilled it on your pants. I dropped in the carb and set the timer for 15 minutes as several have suggested. When the buzzer rang I was expecting to pull out this shiny, gleaming carb. A piece of machinery glowing in the sun like it had been kissed by angels and radiating rainbows & unicorns. I pulled it out...AND! Nothing. Hmmm. OK, maybe it needs to soak longer. Back in for an hour. This time it was better, but still not the "Carb worthy of the Gods" I was expecting. Finally I said "screw it" and left it in overnight. Now THAT did the trick! Clean as a whistle and ready for re-assembly!So the bottom line, is YES. The product works! Just don't expect it to perform a 15 minute exorcism on a carb coated with "Level 90 Gunk of the Ages". :-D

Quadrajet info
I'm going to go ahead and five star this for now simply due to the price. I'll update after I use it.For those of you asking about , "will a quadrajet go in there?", The answer is no. But there is an .89 solution. See my pictures. At Wally world, find the correct size aluminum pan. Then pour the fluid in the pan. It just covers the throttle body. I bought an extra gallon in case it didn't, but one is sufficient. I'll soak the body overnight, then the blades and top, the next night. Other pictures here show you how well it works. I hope so, that's what made me buy this product.. good luck.Update: this is certainly not the Safety-Klean stuff we all know from back in the day. But.... For this price, it is still fine stars. I added a third picture of the dirt and gunk from soaking the q-jet. I soaked each part for at least 24 hours. It's done a very adequate job. I sprayed it off with brakleen and the carb is clean. Again, for the price, it's fine stars for us garage mechanics..
