Q: Does this set come with any sort of traceable standard (nist, oiml, etc.) documentation?

Not that I received. Each weight was checked on lab grade digital scales at my plant’s laboratory. They are exact in my set.

For the most part. If you weigh something heavier than your scale is max calibrated for, then it will be off. If you bump it, change temps, etc... the scale must and should be checked. My weights were exact on my 2 scales and on a lab grade digital scale as well.

They're precise. I used an alternate weight (U.S. coins) to validate their accuracy and found these weights to be right on target

It sounds like you may need to re-calibrate one, or both of the scales. Yes, these can help. If you still have the instruction manuals for your scales, that should tell you how to go about re-calibrating your scales. Generally speaking, once you've started the re-calibration process on your scale, it asks you to weigh specific weights to make sure your scale is accurate. That is where these weights come in very handy, as they are already weighed out to the specific amount that scales automatically ask for. So, yes these can help you re-calibrate your scales.........if that is all that is wrong with them. If there is something else wrong with them you'll have to figure that out on your own.
