Great Product
Firstly I should say this is the second identical large storage box purchased. The quality is extremely good and there is no comparison to the other very common manufacturer available in the UK/Europe.This is American made and sturdy. It can be used as a bench seat (assuming you are not like some of our larger American friends that is ) I am 15+ stone and it supports me easily. Some reviews mention that they needed to drill out the metal components as the bolts/screws were too tight. If they read the instructions it clearly states the holes are slightly undersized to ensure a firm fixture. Secondly, there are reviews that also state that it had arrived broken with damaged corners. This of course might be a genuine case. However, as it is very well packaged in the first place and the plastic is not brittle my suspicions are that, as the assembly can be tight with the various tabs that slot together, people have attempted to 'ease' the assembly with a ball pein metal hammer perhaps and damaged the new storage box (just a theory) and then blamed the delivery driver or packaging. Use a heavy rubber mallet and a block of wood. There is no doubt that the assembly is not the easiest to do - but not exactly difficult if you have the skills , a few DIY type tools including a battery drill/driver, spanners or better still a small socket set and have read the manual (RTFM, as we say) Perhaps the manufacturer or distributor should state that a knowledge of DIY along with a few tools is required. (It certainly does not assemble with nothing more than an Allen key and no assembly tools are supplied)If you are a Gary or a Gladys and the extent of making something doesn't extend beyond a Victoria sponge then you may struggle. It doesn't make it a bad product though. To recap: It is a very sturdy, dry, large and well made patio storage box. I have bought two of the larger ones and would consider buying another as I can tell they are going to last for years.

Having all the right tools to hand is key.
Needed a good quality garden storage box and looked at many of them and settled on this Lifetime 60298 492L It took only two hours to build on my own and 95% of the bits supplied fitted with no issues at all until I reached the final hinge bolt ! Either the hole position on the hinge was wrong or the plastic end piece was incorrectly manufactured ! Who knows which of the two it is but the end result was a choice of drilling the metal hinge to enlarge the hole or giving up with the supplied nut and bolt and fitting one of my own, which was slimmer, and which worked fine. It was a minor niggle but for the not inconsiderable cost these things should line up perfectly ! It absolutely poured with rain within hours of building it and continued overnight but upon checking the interior the next day it was bone dry. It is sturdy and should last some considerable time and if it stays waterproof I'll be a happy buyer. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. I was unable to leave a review of the delivery drivers sterling efforts so if I may, thank you sir you met every criteria for a well deserved 100% good review.

Great Box but assembly problematic as fittings did not fit!
The box is great and arrived promptly and intact but NOT ONE of the screws and bolts that came with it fitted - every one was too big for the holes in the metal and plastic holes - just wouldn't go in even with an electric screwdriver. I think if we had tried to force them into the holes the plastic parts ( obviously not possible in the metal parts!) - the holes would have become too big and broken through the edge of the product - and so we had to raid our own stores which means the finished product is not as robust as it could be. Many of the holes in the plastic were also tiny so we had to make them bigger and then some did not align however much we tried! The instructions were clear but said we would need a cross head screwdriver when all the fittings needed a flat head. The other problem was that it was difficult to turn some of the bolts and screws because the electric screwdriver and spanners did not have room to fit into the mouldings and turn properly . I have to admit we swore a lot at a company that charges a fair amount for a product and then thinks its Ok to provide an assembly kit that is clearly not fit for purpose and it made us wonder if anyone had actually tried to put the box together at that end!

The cushions that we store inside it get wet. You have to force the lid closed, really disappointing!!!!!!

Very sturdy storage comtainer
Arrived promptly. The box was very heavy and required two of us to carry it into the back garden. It initially seemed easy to construct but needs a range of tools. Some of the holes are not predrilled so aligning the parts is tricky. However, now it is finished I am delighted with it. It will definitely last for years and is strong enough to support at least one adult sitting on top of it. This replaces a MUCH cheaper storage box that had disintegrated after a couple of years. What’s that saying? Buy cheap, buy twice? Well, this is expensive but worth the money and effort!

Do you have the tools for assembly before you buy?
Easy to say what I dislike... the assembly. The tools required are not exactly standard for me at least. A power drill is required (which I have), but 10mm, 11mm and 13mm ratchets I don’t have....going to be a more expensive purchase than expected when it does get assembled.
