Pleasantly surprised
After the OEM grips started ballooning (rubber was loosening), I was going to purchase OEMs, but found these and decided to give them a try. Pleasantly surprised by the weight...they are a bit heavier and solid compared to the OEM Honda grips. These are thicker grips than OEM. If you've ever put your hands on a HD, Indian, V-Star or other like motorcycle, they are all a bit thicker than the OEM grips on a Goldwing. The instructions are well written. The gel glue shipped with it is ample for doing the job a few times. The glue sets rather quickly so once you commit to putting the grip on, don't mess around. You have about a minute to slide the clutch side on, spin it to get the glue coated to the bar/grip and positioned before its no longer moveable...plenty of time.I'm not a fan of crimp connectors. I clipped and soldered the wiring after stripping the wiring properly, and heatshrinked the connections, then had larger heatshrink applied over both wires and the OEM line to seal it all in. This gave the installation a factory look and seated in the riser holds just fine. The OEM end weights were used on the hadlebar ends and fit without issue. The OEM heater control works great with them as well. They heat up quickly. It remains to be seen how well the rubber inserts hold up, but for now they feel fine.

Great deal for aftermarket replacement
Found a YouTube video showing the install, and coupled that with the included instructions. Took around 2 hours to remove and old grips and get these installed, but I was moving slow and being careful. Hardest part for me was removing the throttle cables from the right grip.I will agree with other reviewers that these are NOT as warm as the OEM grips, but they’re not bad. They do take about ten minutes to get full hot. I’ve used them on 4 and max settings on my 2016 GL1800, and that was with gloves on. That being said, for a native Houstonian these are a great bargain! Dealership wanted to charge a diagnostic fee and warranty deductible and keep the bike for 3 days, so I decided these were the better deal. They’re much more comfortable than the stock grips and I would definitely recommend them.

Beautiful but not hot
I love the feel and look of the Show Chrome grips but they do not get hot enough. As I like to ride as much as possible, this presents a problem for non-summer riding in the upper Midwest.

Heated grips
Nice upgrade from stock grips. time consuming to install but well worth the effort. Takes a lttle longer to reach max temp. Maybe because it gets much hotter than stock or it could because of the metal grips. Really looks great , much larger diameter grip helps me on rides. Had a dried tube of glue with package, Bike Bikes shipped new tube to resolve problem - Very nice customer service.

Works great, fits grat
Fits my 2008 GL1800 and fixed my inoperable heating system. If one of the OEM grips fail, the whole system quits, and the OEM grips fail often from what I understand. so why pay close to X3 what these cost? the only downside is that they do not get as warm as OEM as others have stated. I can say from experience though, that it will keep your hands warm enough if you're riding behind a fairing, even down into the 20's with some good gloves.Installation is as easy as it could be, but if you own a wing you already know fixing anything can be a pain. there's a couple good videos on youtube though.

Excellent
Bought these on special elsewhere. Used them, to replace my stock heated grips which were WAY to small, and not hugely. The size of these for big hands like me is very much better, and despite all the metal bits they are extremely comfortable. A little longer to warm up, but much warmer than stock.I use them with the inbuilt controller, so all I did was remove the handlebar covers, remove the old grips, join these up and away I went.Highly recommended.
