Very good sound
This player is small and fits in my pocket. The sound is really good (althougth I prefer using my own headphones because the ones that come with it are not very comfortable).Operating the menu is a little difficult (it is a wheel) and sometimes you get in the wrong place because you didn't turn it just right.Battery life seems to be pretty good.Overall, I am happy to have a player, so I am happy with it.

a great entry level MP3 player
I recently purchased the Creative Zen Nano 512 MB MP3 Player Black and use it in my car with an iRiver FM transmitter.Pros:· Flash drive, no moving parts· Holds about 9 albums· Easy to use software· At $70, much better price than an iPodCons:· Should have opted to 1GB model, have to load new music weekly· Just copy MP3s, if you use the built-in compression program, you can fit more, but it sounds tinny· No built-in interface to car stereo, like iPodI am happy with the purchase, my goal was to try out MP3 player technology and hook it up to a car stereo for around $100.When I upgrade my car stereo, I'll buy an iPod, simply because you can plug in and control directly from stereo head unit.

Creative ZEN Nano 'minus'
The Creative Nano sucks. 4 hrs and 2 calls to tech suppoert and the unit still will not be recognized by my computer. One of the Tech support help points was to use one of the USB ports on the BACK of the computer rather than the front (not in the instructions). They say that the ports on the back of computers are more capable that those on the front (?). I asked them why they would design a device - with a 6 inch cable - that required you to crawl under your desk to plug it in each time, when there is a perfectly good port (that works for every other plug-in device I have) on the front? All I got was a sheepish, 'yeah, I know' from the techie. Still did not work on the rear port. Then they wanted me to go in and do some monkey work with the computer's register. Forget it. It goes back. It's like buying a radio for your car and then being told you need to work on the transmission to get the radio to turn on. What a piece of crap. Amazon should have an option to rate '0 stars'.

Cheap at the time
Bought for my wife and haven't seen it in along time. Even my son doesn't want to mess with it.

Its ok
Works well. Is really small and compact. But why oh why does it not come with a charger? There is no way to charge this thing. HAS to run on batteries. 1 single AAA battery but even so. Would have been nice if there was an option to charge it at home and then carry it along. I bought it a few years back for $50 (which was a good buy compared to the more expensive IPods that were coming to the market at that time) but did not use it for a long time as I cannot find AAA rechargeable batteries -- have 2 sets of AA ones! (I hate to use throw-away batteries due to being environmentally conscious.)Other than that, its been a good buy so far. Menu is easy (once you figure it out) and 512MB is good for a few different albums. Of course, those who use the fancier mp3 players will not like this very basic player with hardly an interface. But you have to pay for all those fancy extra features!

Creative Zen Nano 512 MB MP3 Player
I bought this as a gift as my daughter loves to listen to music and she has been very happy with it. It what she requested as one of her Christmas presents or birthday, I don't remember which.

A decent mp3 player
I bought a new Zen Nano a few months ago. I mostly use it to listen to while walking around the campus. The ear buds that came with it are horrible to use, in my opinion. They fit very poorly and the audio seems to switch sides sometimes...but most people will tell you that no matter what you buy, the included headphones are never that good. I immediately bought a $20 pair of headphones, and then I was fairly happy. Although I am still planning on buying even better headphones later, maybe some Seinnheiser HD202's which I bet would sound great with this player.Anyways, after a while you get used to using the controls and pushing the buttons with one hand, which is nice. The black case does get noticeably scratched up over time, it did come with a little plastic "sleeve" but it's an ugly looking semi-transparent white rubber thing. It makes me think of a condom for my player, so I never used it. If you don't mind it getting scratched up, then I say, forget using the weird included holder. These past few weeks I've noticed that my player has been taking longer to turn off, which is done by holding down the play button. The past few days, it won't actually turn off at all. I have to open the battery cover and pull the battery out to turn it off, which is a little inconvenient. I haven't read about this happening to anyone else, so I just might be unlucky.I would say that for the price, it's a really nice player, (...) I do wish I had saved up a little more and purchased the 1 gig one though, since I like to have a lot of musical choices to pick from. This model can hold about 6 or so albums at about 192kbps, which is CD quality audio.

They could be in store again...
It is mostly excellent. As I am now older, I don't think I have a lot of need for these things. I really do like this product though. Enjoy your day. I think it's great amazon has these. Stores could also.Thanks-have a safe day. Gracias.
