Just Not Sure Of The Design
Received from Amazon yesterday. First, it was obviously returned because there was wear on the top where the receiver goes into the hitch and a deep gouge on the bottom where the hitch would rest on the receiver. This was my first concern without ever using it. There was not a single scratch on the balls, so it was obvious the manufacturer replaced the balls and boxed it to resell. If it is so soft to gouge out like that leads to my next concern. When I removed the ball assembly from the frame the dual ball pin came out. This is normal I understand but that pin (that prevents the ball assembly from completely sliding off the hitch) is only about 1/2" thick. In Michigan we have potholes (big ones). If you have a 800lb tongue weight and hit one, that tiny aluminum pin is the only thing that keeps your trailer attached.Secondly in the pictures it shows only the front of the hitch. In the back side there is only about 3/8" of aluminum on each side that prevents the sliding portion of the hitch from breaking free ( like this '[' instead of this '[]') and where the adjusting pin goes through is like this 'E' instead of this '[]'. Im not an engineer but it seems to me there is too many points for failure (for aluminum) that Im not sure if im willing to risk my life over. If im hauling a 2000lb trailer I would have no issue but im just not so sure with a 10,000lb trailer.

Something to keep in mind when ordering hitch
Hitch arrived today, opened it up and ready to install it on my truck and was bummed to find out that they dont even include the pin to adjust the height. I can understand not including a locking pin to secure hitch to truck but not to include atleast a pin to install for height adjustment?? So now I had to order a set of locking pins for $38 and wait another two days before I can even use the hitch. Don’t get me wrong I am very happy with the quality of the hitch, but Atleast include an adjustment pin with the hitch. A $180 spent on a hitch and now have to order pins, very frustrating and disappointing.

Might not be safe!?!
I like the idea of this hitch and that’s why I bought it...no regrets until today! I only received this hitch about a week ago and today was my second chance at using it. The hitch is heavy duty so no concern about breaking it but, something rather concerning happened today that has me questioning the design from Anderson Hitch.I was towing my empty cargo trailer on a road that has a few dips in the road...hit one and immediately noticed my trailer was loose, the emergency brakes locked up the tires and the trailer coupler was resting on the safety chains still attached to the ball and sliding piece of the hitch (with the pin and cotter key locked in place)!Keep in mind I did not bottom out and I was only driving 35-40 mph on a 40mph road.I feel like this is a safety issue but don’t know really how to address it...At a minimum be careful using this hitch!!

Worth it
This hitch was recommended to me, I was skeptical because it’s pretty spendy. But I bought it anyways. And used it immediately. It’s 17 lbs, arrives on time, wasnt marked in a prime box just FYI.It comes with one pin. But I purchased the locking pins for an extra $40. They come with two keys. Figure I’d try to protect my investment. The hitch fits well and looks good. Super easy to adjust. I have a 2 1/2” receiver on my truck so I had to buy a sleeve, I bought that at a store in town. But I got the 2” hitch so it can be used on other trucks. The locking pins fit perfect. Like I said it only comes with one pin which makes no sense to me. You can pull a pin then slide the balls out, and flip them over. Or just flip over the whole thing, then the Anderson label willBe upside down. But super easy to work with.Definitely recommend it, I’ve attached some pics

GREAT sturdy adjustable hitch assembly!!
Using on Ford Expedition.Purchased to pull 3500GVWR enclosed trailer (2 5/16 ball) and 3000GVWR open trailer (2" Ball).Easily accommodates both ball requirements with a simple flip of the ball mount component. Please note - you cannot change the balls out.Provides secure, confident connection between the truck and trailer. It's not a loud hitch either with minimal hitch rattle.Very easy to adjust for trailer/truck height differences. Pull the pin, remove the carrier pin, lift up or lower as needed, replace carrier pin and you're done.Looks very nice, is reasonably weighted and works wonderfully!Would definitely recommend to anyone with multiple trailers requiring varying connection height!
