Good product with a learning curve
There is definitely a learning curve with this. Once I figured it out the product worked great on little 2” wooden hearts . It did melt too much in some spots causing it to turn brown but that’s my user error. It works best if you cut out the whole shape you are applying it to and leave a little over lap. I printed black text and applied it on the wooden hearts by just cutting the words out like strips. This was not good because I could see the edges of the material on the wood.My 2nd try... I reprinted and cut out the text leaving enough transfer paper to overlap the hearts. This worked great! The downside is it was $2 a sheet which is pricey for making mistakes while you learn. I was surprised however at how well the words stayed on the wood. I even tried to sand a mistake off but even heavy grit sandpaper didn’t remove it! No need to polyurethane afterwords! I did have a lot of trouble with applying a red heart shape to the wood. (Yes a heart on a heart!) The graphic was a black outlined red heart shape. When applied to the wood the red just spread out (bled) and smeared so badly with the heat. I tried twice but it did it again. I used a HP color INK and their ink isn’t waterproof so maybe that was an issue.Overall it is a good product once you learn how to work with it. I would plan on practicing before you get your final product. I am an artist and have used many many materials. As with any new method don’t expect it to be perfect the first time around. It was fun though and eventually came out good.

Waste of time and money...
**UPDATED 5/21/21 INCLUDES A PHOTO OF NEW ATTEMPT** I really wanted to be able to change my review. They sent me a new pack, so I could try because I didn't realize there was a particular piece of parchment in the pack and used my own, but it still did not work.. ***UPDATED***The design AND the parchment paper it says to use, BOTH stuck to the wood. So I had to tear it off and resand and repaint all the wood. 🙄 I did all my pieces and when they cooled, it wouldn't come off. I used painted wood and the paint cannot be blamed because as you see from my photos and video, it only stuck to the design paper area. It did not stick to my paint or melt it or anything. So, using painted wood cannot be blamed. It just didn't work.

worked for wood transfer - thoughts...
used this to "transfer" some bold text to a wooden (cigar) box. it did work. (also added 2 coats of poly gel)however, it isn't technically a transfer imho. rather, is a moderately thick film, nearly as think as a sheet of copy paper.after you peel the backing, you iron the film until it turns transparent. as other reviewers mentioned, avoid sliding the design while you iron it.after the film is transparent you can see the edges where the film is higher than the wood.I cut very closely around my text and it looked good. But next time I would try to apply a long strip that extended on the whole face of the box so you wouldn't see where the film was higher than the rest.

Good product
Basically a good product. Here are some things to keep in mind:. Do not move the iron. Lay it on the parchment and lift it up. Wiggling or moving it will smudge the image.. The wood grain will affect adhesion. Be patient.. BE PATIENT! The process takes time.. Nail polish remover will take off the image or residue. The pictures I added show my first attempt. I will be removing everything for a redo. Glad I found this product but there is definitely a learning curve.
