FB6200S Steel Fireplace Fire Pit,Black

I originally bought this about 7 years ago on a different site (not Amazon) and for a MUCH higher price plus had to pay shipping. The base is really nice looking and everything was easy to put together. We loved the style and size of this fire pit and the best part is that you can access the fire from both sides. That allows plenty of people to roast marshmallows at the same time! Most models only open on one side. After 6 years, the screen area on the top finally gave way and it was time to replace. Yes, the screen will rust if left uncovered, but how can you complain when it will last for well over five years for the price? We used it most every weekend and loved it so much that I searched for the exact same model this time. Luckily they still make the same model and Amazon had the best price by far! I bought this on Amazon when it was on sale for $187.49.

Looks nice but IMO a bit expensive for what you get. There was a missing screw/washer when we attempted to put t together. Every phone number we tried to call that came with the paperwork, no one answered, the number was disconnected. We had to resort to paying out of pocket and order it from Lowe's and go pick it up ourselves.

We bought this because it looks just like our old one, which wore out after many years. However, it is not the same, though it looks similar. The manufacturing (in China) was not high quality, I assume. One of the legs is missing the drill hole to assemble it. Fortunately, I was able to use our old one. See picture.There is a special part supplied for opening and closing the wide door. This came smashed, though. And when I try to use our regular fireplace poker, it turns out the iron lip for opening and closing was made too close to the top, so it is clumsy to open and close.Besides these defects and broken parts, the wide doors on the front and back are not flush with the rest of the frame. So sparks come through more easily. Our old one has the sides flush for safety.The base is made of an entirely different copper looking material than the black iron looking top frame. I suspect someone manufactured the base separately. The holes do align with the top frame, which is good. It looks OK, just is a bit dysfunctional.I would not buy this product. I tried emailing the manufacturing distributor, which the instructions say is the fastest way to get customer support, but no answer. I know Amazon would make good on this, which is why I buy though them. However, it takes a while to assemble everything and the box and styrofoam came apart easily. So I did not want to go through the trouble of repackaging it and taking it apart and not having anything that worked. So we are keeping it, but I am writing this as a warning to others.John in Virginia

I thought the product would be more "heavy duty", but the metal was thin and had a cheap feel to it. I have yet to use it, so hopefully it holds up over time.

This product looks OK, but the parts (except for the tub) are flimsy and the quality control was not very good. The cover is so thin that it immediately ripped as it caught on the sharp corners. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but, for the price, I expected better. Knowing what I know now, I would not have purchased this item. One of the perils of buying something on-line without actually seeing it.

Great fire pit - this was one of the first things that we bought when we purchased a house with a back yard. Small enough, even with sand, to move by myself the morning after. This was easy to build, about 30 minutes. The only thing I will do is place some small bricks under it next time I use it, they're pretty cheap and protect your grass. The first time I used it a little bit of hot sand fell on my grass, and burnt it. I've learned my lesson.

This is a lot smaller than it looks so be aware of the size you're putting it in. It disappears on my patio. It is nice looking and would look great if it were larger. That aside, we received the item and of the 7 parts (nuts and bolts excluded), 3 were damaged. The top grating had a pretty big hole it it and the two large side doors were also damaged. It looked like one of the legs went loose in the box and damaged the parts described above. I called the manufacturer in PA and spoke with a truly nice woman who took all of my information, apologized for the inconvenience of the damaged parts, and told me they'd ship replacements right away. I'm writing this review a month after my purchase and still no parts. Still haven't used it either. If I had a mind to pay to ship the thing back for a refund, I would, but I trusted the company to send my parts and tossed the box. I get that things get damaged, but those are the issues you really need to be on top of to keep customers happy. Didn't happen here.
