My husband had a stroke and needs support for his affected arm when he is sitting on the couch. After using a flat support, I bought this armrest for him and it was such an improvement. He just places it on the couch next to where he sits and his arm comfortably rests in a position that keeps the weight of his arm from straining his shoulder. The concave shape of the top of the armrest helps keep his arm in place, whereas previously his arm would stray from his side and end up in his lap. It seemed rather pricey, and I hesitated to buy it because of that, but it has made an improvement in my husband's comfort so seems worth it.

I ordered this armrest for my father who suffered a stroke and is in a wheelchair with no use of his left arm. His left arm slides down between his side and the chair and gets pinched. This armrest does not stay in place. It just slides sideways and his arm just ends up getting pinched like it did before. Until they figure out how to anchor it, it is useless. It is a waste of money, at least for a person that has no mobility in that limb. Tired of wasting money on junk and companies get rich selling it!!!!

I really didn't care for this product. My boyfriend suffered a stroke and his left arm was affected. This wasn't stable enough for him, his arm would fall along with the armrest. And he's a big man to bulky for him.

Returned, it would not stay in place on my husband's wheelchair, kept rolling to the side and dumping him over, which was exactly what I bought it to stop.
