It really does lower the coolant temperature by 20 degrees.
I have a 1970 Chevelle malibu with a 502 BB which has always, like all big blocks, run hot. I recently installed a new aftermarket A/C system and was eager to try it out. I have a good temp gauge and keep one eye on it especially on hot days. As usual it was running 210-220 just driving around town and 225-235 in stop and go traffic. This was without running the A/C. The radiator was from OPG , a few years old, and designed for the 454 SS motors so I decided to bite the bullet and go for the aluminum radiator. Their claim was a 20 degree reduction so I installed the BeCool #17008. It's OEM design looks stock with a black satin finish and bolts right in. It really does lower the temperature by 20 degrees. My only complaint is the stock lower didn't fit. I found a Napa #FM65 to fit and it works well.
