The seeds do what they’re designed to do, grow grass!
I live in Southern California, where the weather is warm to hot for weeks on end. I’ve used this seed for years and have never been disappointed. They grow in any type of weather, during most seasons, and grow fast and strong here in SoCal. Sometimes I use it for filling in dead spots, and no problem! It takes any fertilizer, food, and weed killer. Weather be damn, great seed!

We are VERY happy with our new lawns.
I can personally recommend this seed mixture at least in my area - north Olympic Peninsula, Washington. We have a young mas who does our mowing who sowed the seed and covered it with peat moss. He didn't till the old lawn as directed but simply scratched the surface, spread the seed and covered it with peat moss. I about a week, we noticed sprouting. We watered as directed and the second week, the grass was up about three inches. We had considerable rain and intermittent sunshine and the grass went crazy. Finally, fourth week, our man came and gave it the first mowing. It has filled in, thick and beautiful and folks have been asking what in the world we did to out old dead lawn. I just smile and tell them, "It is Canada Green." One thing we did do is over seed the lawn areas - about one and a half times what is recommended. That may have had something to do with it but other than that, we did nothing. It just came up and within three to four weeks, it was well over 5" high. We did the same thing in the back yard but the seed went down two weeks later and we missed the optimum window for planting. It is coming up and doing well but not as fast as the front yard. We are happy campers.

Change of opinion again
Another update, all of this grass that did actuallt germinate died, cheap seed, cheap grass, bad overall and long term resultsI purchased this product hoping it would work at least half as good as the company said...it didn't. I did a full prep to my lawn to get ready for the seeding, including soil prep and well thatched. I spread the seed, rather heavy as instructed by hand. It has been 3 full weeks now, and I have gotten only about a 20% germination rate. I am assuming the only seed that germinated is the cheap portion of annual grass they mix in the bag. A big dissappointment because now I still have a bad lawn and it is too late in the season to plant again, it's unfortunate because I planted in fall which is the best time. I also got one response from the company when I asked a basic question, but when my next communication was more of a concern, I was completely ignored! Now I just wish I had got the Scotts grass seed!!!

So Far pretty good
Put this seed in here on the front range of Colorado (East side of the Rockies) at 6,500ft elevation. Its been down about 2 months now and I would say the 5,000sg ft. is 75% filled in. This was heavily over seeded soil (good quality fertilized/mulched 6-8 inches deep)and then lawn topper put over the seed and watered daily. There was no original lawn, it was fresh soil trucked in. Its a pretty light green with small blades and very dense. Its Nov 1st now and we will see how it does over the winter. We have already had one V-light snow on it and it was not bothered at all. Also seems to be keeping the weeds down. There was no weed killer used. I'll update this post in June 08, by then it should be at its peak, or not.

GREAT Green Grass If You Do Some Due-Diligence!
This seed is actually has a very good germination rate..but, you must do your homework:Temps should be 50-80 degrees1) Prep the soil-remove old grass & till 3-4 inches down.2)Lay down a 2 in. grass seed topper.3) Seed very liberally(bag really only covers 500 sq. feet).4)Cover with 1/4 inch of same topper.4) Water, water, water! I live in a dry,hot area(so, I watered the seeds 4-5 times per day).5) Keep birds away-they love these seeds!6)When growth is about 2 in., fertilize lightly with Scotts Liquid Grass Starter Spray.7)Check at night for slugs/snails8)If hot(over 75, water 3 times a day).9)If insects are a problem(mole crickets, moths/grubs) in your area, lay down a small amount of insecticideI have done these steps, and in 3 weeks have 250 fill-in sq. feet of beautiful green grass!I have done these, &now have 250sq. feet of beautiful gr

Not as xpected
Ok, I did not have the greatest expectations for this product. i did not expect a pefect color match( which it wasn't) I was however hoping it would last. I bought this to fill in a couple bare spots that was left from when they put in my new septic tanks. I followed directions. The grass came in pretty quick, but died out after only a couple months. Of course this is my experience. I don't have the greatest growing environment(a bit sandy), but they do advertise a hardy fast growing easy seeding product. I did spend time prepping and watering with limited disappointing success. If next year it comes back stronger? I will update my post.

It went from almost straight dirt with just a few sad patches of grass to a lush
If I knew how to send a photo here, I would send a 'before' and 'after'. First I watered thoroughtly the dirt that was once my lawn. Then I spread the seed, topped it with a topper soil and then, using a hand held spreader, topped it with lawn starter fertilizer. Of course watered it twice a day until it came up, then cut down to once a day. It went from almost straight dirt with just a few sad patches of grass to a lush, green, full lawn. Excellent!!! Neighbors are asking who put in my lawn and are surprised when being a retired woman, I tell them I did. Oh, and BTW, it began coming up in just 3 days. Also, I live arid Arizona.

Germinated where other seed did not
It grew where other seed did not. First year appears lighter green. Price went up about 30% above advertised. Came from Canada. $18 for 2 pounds of grass seed. Stupid. Must be an import tax. Not worth the extra money suprise in the final bill.
