Top level bushcraft knife at an excellent price
I'm a bushcraft knife freak, as I spend lots of time outdoors and making good use of fieldcraft gear. I have more than enough bushcraft-style knives that I use regularly, but after reading some external reviews on this Condor Bushlore blade, I had to check it out.I'm not a big fan of wood knife handles, as they can age without regular care. I keep a good knife in my truck's armrest at all times, and in the desert heat, I would prefer a synthetic. Micarta being my favorite handle material, so I went with the micarta version of this blade. I love how micarta keeps really good grip in the hand even when covered with fish slime, animal blood, mud, or rain. You don't have to oil or wax it or treat it with anything over time, and if it takes abuse and gets rough, you can sand it smooth again. For the price, I couldn't pass this knife up. Being of high carbon steel, it's great for scraping on a ferro rod for a good healthy shower of sparks. Always use the spine of the blade for this task to save your blade's edge! The wood handled version was in the $30 range, and a total steal, so I had no issue going to the $60 mark to get the micarta handles. The excellent leather sheath that comes with this knife was another pleasant surprise - very thick sheath great-looking sheath that really holds the knife in deep and snug. So far, I'm feeling like I stole this knife.I received this knife this past week and took it with me this weekend on a quick 2-day camp trip. I wanted to put this little beauty to the test, so I put a fresh razor-sharp edge on it with my ceramic stone and went to work. It's just the right size for so many tasks, I had to try it all. From picking out a splinter in my thumb to chopping a 4" sapling, it worked with ease. I did some light batoning on some pre-cut wood left behind from previous campers, and it's just big enough to allow batoning without needing to carry a larger knife. I usually bring a kukri machete with me on most trips, but not when I backpack, so batoning is a must for field knives when I backpack. The width of this thick blade and the length allowed me to get the job done. I sliced meet with it, buttered bread, carved my initials in an old sign post, finely diced up some thick beef jerky, cut a piece of scrap leather with ease, and other small tasks which I'm sure I forgot already.I plan to make my own Kydex sheath for this blade, since it has enough flare on the handle to be able to lock into a Kydex sheath and hold even when upside down. I like to use the Tek-Loks on my sheaths so I can put them on my pack strap or on my belt with ease. I'm not a big fan of using leather sheaths because they do require some TLC over time as well, plus they're heavy. It's still a great sheath though and I'm not taking anything away from it, I just prefer working with and using Kydex. Conclusion:This knife is an amazing bang for the buck. It's a very useful medium-sized bushcraft knife that can do fine tasks and also chop/baton very well. It throws a great spark on a ferro rod, has a great sheath, and is a nice thick blade that can be used to pry. The sandblasted finish looks great and takes the shine off of the blade if you want to keep flashiness to a minimum in the field. I'm not a fan of coated blades, but I love this blasted finish. I expect I'll be putting some of my other more expensive knives away and putting the miles on this Condor knife instead.

Great value and outstanding quality!
Just received the knife and it is everything I expected, great quality no cracks or chips in handle like other knives I've bought including custom knives. The tang and handle is nicely flushed and believe me, I looked for raised / sharp edges and found none. The sheath is a little tight and will have to break in, but like the knife, it's flawless. I have wanted a woodlore or Jacklore for years, but didn't want to spend that much money on a knife I may decide not to carry, but this one fits my needs 100% and for the cost I can buy 12 condors for the cost of one of the other knives. I love the maintained free micarta handle over the wood and it looks great. I was worried about the weight, but it's less than expected and I will be carrying this in the back country and leave my folder at home or in my bag. You can't see the knife under my tee-shirt so you won't scare other hikers or backpacker too much, but the ultra lighter's will give you dirty looks when they see it for sure!

Best Budget Bushcraft Blade
This Condor Bushcraft arrived quick with very fast shipping from Red's Gear. The knife looks way better than I expected and the picture really doesn't do it justice. It is very solid in feel and weight, which is not enough to bother you wearing it from the hip all day. Decently sharp outside the box, with beautiful micarta handles and a thick, deep blade. I have bought several knives before from Condor and they never disappoint when it comes to quality vs price. They have the absolute best sheaths on the market for the price in my opinion, even surpassing several $100+ blades I have in my collection. For example, the sheath on my Ontario Ranger Rd-7 is absolute junk, the blade falls out and it is nylon. This one is a very thick, solid piece of leather and hangs very naturally on the hip. I do wish all Condor sheaths had the "swivel" option like on some of the larger blades, such as the Kumunga, but this feels nice and it shouldn't bother you when riding in the car. So, overall, great tough carbon steel blade, looks and feels like an expensive knife, is just as solid as many $100+ knives in build quality, feels great in the field or in daily carry and is well worth the $50 price point with micarta handles and such an excellent sheath. If you get the wood handle it will be the cost of a decent mid level Mora, more in the $30 range. Buy it, you'll need nothing else for bushcraft or field usage and you won't feel bad beating it up at this very budget friendly price.
