Nice Arduino Kit
It's a nice kit to get started with Arduino projects and has a good variety of components. While the kit it self don't come with documentation booklet in paper form. There is links to the documentation for the kit you can you can download. The Arduino kit comes in a hard plastic case with a removable tray which is nice. The components in the Arduino kit is good build quality. I bought this kit since it had the RFID module and the Ultrasonic Distance Sensor. Plus it came with the protoshield all ready put together for you.The kit also comes with extra header pins which will come in handy if you want to make your own addon shields. You will just have to buy some PCB Universal Boards. Overall the Arduino is really easy to understand and get started in. No matter if the person is young or old the Arduino is really fun to play around with. Once you get your feet wet you will find your self buying more Arduino stuff and add it to your collection.

All the Parts, None of the Tutorials
This kit is basically a duplicate of a kit sold directly from the manufacturer. I ordered via Amazon for the 2-day Prime shipping to get it in time for class. Ultimately, I couldn't see any parts that are inferior quality to those from Kits directly from the manufacturer. I expected some pretty poor quality things but was surprised **cough**mercury tilt switch**cough**It's a great kit to get started with Arduino projects and has a good variety of components. The kit, however, does not come with any sort of tutorials. You have to know what your doing, or struggle along blindly hooking up jumpers, or search for tutorials somewhere else. This is the only thing stopping a full five-star review. Fortunately, the manufacture's website (http://www.sainsmart.com) has very good support in their forums and available tutorials for their similar product. These are pretty generic for all Arduino kits, but specific guides and sketches are readily available on other sites as well.

Great buy!
This a fun little kit for the starting electronics novice/enthusiast. It's clear some of the pieces are cheaply made chinese knock-offs, including the board itself, but besides a couple non-working LEDs, all other components worked fine. It's a great buy and I'd highly recommend. Just beware, that if you're unfamiliar with this type of hardware it does not function without the accompanying correctly written software, which in my opinion is more difficult to get right than the proper hardware configurations.

A mess for a beginner.
Does not come as pictured. Everything seems to be in working order. I am a beginner in this and expected some kind of information to be sent along. No items list included and no educational literature at all. Just left having to look up most of the components in the plastic case to even figure out what im looking at. Just felt more could have been done with a learning value for an "Ultimate Starters Kit" and if you are going to show me a picture of a product and i order it i would appreciate getting whats pictured and not a stripped down version of the packaging. I give Three Stars because like I said earlier everything seems to be in working order. This review is about a week late but today i got some arduino style boards from a couple of competitors here on amazon and was absolutely more impressed with them all around.

Do not recommend to any one!
This product did not come with any paper work specifying anything in the box , it does not look like the package in the pictures and it doesn't have the programming software or any helpful instructions for anything,, dissatisfied 100%, other classmates purchased cheaper and better products , it's a total rip off!!!

Should probably stick with an official kit
Chose this over the official Arduino Ultimate starter kit, which doesn't have a 16x2 LCD screen, RFID reader, or proximity sensor. No documents accompany this kit, so you should be pretty good at doing your own research. This SainSmart kit might be tedious if this is your first experience with Arduino. My LCD arrived with pins bent / uneven with other pins. They do have an RMA process, but my pliers & soldering iron fixed them. The LCD has a weak backlight (useless in sunlight), and I don't think the RFID reader is anything special. The breadboard is marginal quality with some rows not accepting pins. The baggies of resistors aren't labeled, so you have to search pictures on google and match the colored bands (either 220, 1k, or 10k ohms).Get this only if you need a sub-par LCD, RFID reader, and proximity sensor via Prime shipping, or if a friend has a kit already and you're merely shadowing.

RFID is what caught my eye.
New to Arduino, I didn't know what to expect. However I can see this kit is very good quality. The Kit I purchased came in a hard plastic case and a lot of the items inside were individually wrapped. No bent pins on anything. The RFID part is what I was looking at for a project. I hope to have it up and running soon.My mistake was not realizing there wasn't any documentation included. After a quick email to SainSmart Customer Tech support, I was good to go. They sent me links to all the info I never knew I needed. Great response from Sharon there. With so many sellers competeing for my business, it is hard to figure out who is giving me value for my hard earned money. It is so refreshing to complete a business transaction online, and feel like I wasn't taken advantage of. I have every confidence in SainSmart. I would recommend this seller to anyone. I will most definitely be coming back for more as I learn about other projects. Thanks again SainSmart.

It is for starters but even an experient person would always open that box for something on it

Perfecto para iniciarse
Es un kit estupendo para iniciarse en Arduino. Trae todo lo necesario y los materiales son de una calidad suficiente para hacer varios proyectos y que no se nos estropee al poco tiempo. Lo recomiendo.

Very enjoyable doing projects from this kit
All parts arrived as pictured, good quality, good packaging. Have already enjoyed completing a number of projects using the tutorial from the Sainsmart website. However, there should be an 8x8 led matrix module rather than the individual components that are too difficult to use together without it.
